Lincoln Park is located 3 miles north of downtown Chicago. It was originally settled by German farmers and industrial workers in the 1830s and housed a cemetery until it was moved and renamed Lincoln Park in the 1860s. The neighborhood features the Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago Historical Society, and was greatly rebuilt after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. It has a population of around 63,000 people that is more densely populated than Chicago overall. Lincoln Park residents have lower rates of birth, death, crime, and are more likely to be insured compared to the city as a whole. The area includes many parks, the Steppenwolf Theatre, and attractions like the Lincoln Park Zoo.
