Louis Kahn was an American architect known for his precise integration of structure, materials, light, and classical geometry in his works. He wanted to redefine architecture through re-examining structure, form, space, and light, moving away from the international style modernism of his time. Kahn believed that shadow had the power to give form to architecture. Some of his most notable works that demonstrate his focus on the play of light and shadows include the Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban and Salk Institute.
