Sponsor-a-Book Program
Back by popular demand- the Sponsor-a-Book program! Last year hundreds books
were sponsored by Escondido students! All interested families have the chance to
pick books to sponsor!
When you sponsor a book, your child will be invited to select a new book or an old
favorite that has already been purchased by the library. We will paste a specially
designed nameplate in the front of the book with your child’s name on it. Students
check out their special books and return them to the library when they are
finished reading them so other students can enjoy them for years to come.
If you are interested in sponsoring a book, $15 (checks made out to Es condido
Elementary ) will cover the cost of buying a brand new book for this special
program designed for the participation of all interested Escondido students.

25. Kristen’s Suggestions
1. $4000/year of Sponsor-a-Book funding will be used for fiction and
Enjoyable titles.
Kristen will publicize Sponsor-a-Book requests frequently during the year to
raise awareness and hopefully raise funding to $4000. If $4000 is not raised,
small amount of profit from the book fair is contributed to library funds to raise
total to $4000. Kristen will support book fair sales through promotion in library.
2. $3000-4000 in library funding be put in the PTA budget each year as a
line item to update the non-fiction collection.
A possible five year plan follows:
Year 1: Everyday Math + FOSS science books
Year 2: Dewey 000-299
Year 3: Dewey 300-599
Year 4: Dewey 600-799
Year 5: Dewey 800-999
