2. INTRODUCTION
• Richard Rinaolo has served as a managing partner at Phoenix
Venture Capital, LLC, in Evanston, Illinois, since 2014. When he is
not pursuing construction and real estate opportunities on behalf
of the venture capital fund, Richard Rinaolo maintains
memberships with a number of philanthropic organizations,
including the Lake Forest Open Lands Association.
The Lake Forest Open Lands Association (LFOLA) was established
in 1967 as an independently funded educational and
conservation organization emphasizing on the upkeep of natural
landscapes for future generations. LFOLA hosts a number of
special programs and events over the course of the year, such as
the upcoming Dynamic Shore: Water, Waves, and Coastal Change
presentation by Dr. Ethan Theuerkauf, an Illinois coastal geologist
from the University of Illinois.

3. LAKE FOREST OPEN LANDS
ASSOCIATION
• Part of the LFOLA Great Lakes, Great Issues three part
lecture series, Dynamic Shore will focus on the various
processes that enact coastal geological changes, from the
continuous wave activity to varying water levels,
particularly along the coast of Western Lake Michigan.
Topics of discussion will range from the potential results
of coastal changes to the technology used to monitor for
changes, including drones and sonar, as well as processes
such as sediment coring.
Dynamic Shore will take place on November 15th at the
Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest. Like all lectures
in the series, the presentation will be free of charge.
