The document discusses 5 potential gifts that could be given to Flora:
1) Beauty, as Flora does not believe in her own beauty.
2) A nice dress, as Flora's sister Domenica has nicer clothes and Flora works in the gardens.
3) A diary, so Flora can reflect on her life and express herself, as she seems shy.
4) A good friend, as every person needs a supportive friend, and Flora struggles alone.
5) A large diamond, so Flora could feel happy and confident, and it could enable her to flee her home as she dreams.
Unfulfilled Desires of the Sons
In the first scene of the play, the younger son Edmund talks to his mother about his illness to convince her that it is not
as terrible as she assumes, after which his mother pampers him. This shows how much he needs his mother's attention
and also his desires to re-experience the satisfaction the feeling of wholeness with the mother had created in him in the
Imaginary Order. His mother tries to assure him that he would be healthy again, while referring to the fact that the only
thing he needs is her nursing.
MARY: [almost resentfully] Oh, I'm sure you don't feel half as badly as you make out. You're such a baby.
You like to get us worried so we'll make a fuss over you. You need to rest all you can. Sit down and I'll make
you comfortable.
EDMUND: Grand. Thanks, Mama.
MARY: [kisses him—tenderly] All you need is your mother to nurse you. Big as you
are, you're still the baby of the family to me, you know. (LDJ, I. p. 2020)
The love and attention of the mother and the lost union he had experienced in the Imaginary Order are the object of his
desire – what he is in search of, but would never attain. He thinks that his mother can fill the lack he has suffered from
since the Imaginary Order, but his actual mother, as she is now, completely differs from and cannot match the motherimage he has in his mind, with which he could feel safe and secure. His mother is now an addicted person who takes
drugs to pacify her pains. This incongruity causes some disorders in Edmund's personality. To fulfill his desires, he

Education set for collecting and visualizing data using sensor system based o...IJMER
This article presents the issues of the wireless sensor measuring systems design which might
be used in education process of computer science faculty. The work shows the integration of a simple
measuring system, data management system, visual system and the hardware. Education set is designed
to consolidate knowledge in many fields of computer science and the interdependence between them, as
programming techniques, database, Web server, communications protocols, software and hardware.
Presented measuring sensor system consists of a number of measurement nodes, whose role is to
provide information about certain desirable characteristics, warning against natural hazards or
violation of the physical safety. An important part of the sensor system is a measuring subsystem and
the collecting measurement data subsystem. The article presents the temperature measurement sensor
system concepts and measurement data storage and visualization methods
One of my primary duties these days is promoting workplace safety. Inspired by the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday, I wrote this article for our employees, as a way of encouraging them to be alert, aware and safe while on the job.
Over the last decades, an interdisciplinary community of scientists, especially physicists, has carried out both empirical and theoretical investigations aimed at understanding economic and financial systems within the framework of complex systems. This approach, which defines the so-called field of Econophysics, differs from the one traditionally adopted in mainstream economics in various respects. First of all, emphasis is put on induction from empirical evidence to theoretical models, rather than deduction from strict and often ureasonable mathematical assumptions about the expected behaviour of individuals. Second, the preferred objects of analysis are large socio-economic systems with many uderlying units, which often interact with each other forming intricate networks with a complex topology. In this talk, I will briefly introduce various examples of complex networks encountered in Econophysics, and then focus in particular on the World Trade Web formed by the import-export relationships among all world countries. I will conclude with a discussion of the implications that recent results about the properties of the World Trade Web have for international macroeconomics

Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.
2. 1st Gift
If I were to give Flora a gift I would
probably choose to give her beauty.
She always is a servant to her own
family which I find really sad. Only
Nonna is really there for Flora and
she had to give up a lot to do that for
her grand-child. Also, Flora never
believes in her beauty. Of course she
can be beautiful if she believes and
really wants herself to look good.
Even Sandro Botticelli, who had to
paint Flora’s sister Domenica, told
Flora that she was a beauty and
good-looking.
3. 2nd Gift
The second gift I would want to give to Flora would be a
nice dress. This is adding to the first gift, beauty. I think
she has to have a good dress because it is so unfair how
Domenica has everything and Flora almost has nothing.
Sometimes Domenica also struggles being the only girl
that Maddelena likes dressing up, but still it is better
than to be like Flora, working in the gardens and eating
with the servants in the kitchen instead of at the big
supper table with her wealthy family. I mean imagine
sitting with your cleaning lady in the basement having a
simple soup while your sibling(s) and your parents are
enjoying a nice meal with a great view and alongside
having a nice conversation about the great day that
they have had. Imagine working in your garden and
being ignored by your mother all the time. That must
hurt and that is why Flora should get a nice present that
she can be proud of and hopefully show off and be
noticed.
4. 3rd Gift
As Flora’s 3rd gift I would giver her a diary
because since she has quite an interesting
life she should really record it somehow.
This could help her reflect on the past and
maybe help her with different other
thoughts when she is at the Goldsmith’s
shop towards the end of the story. Flora’s
personality seems shy and for me it would
make sense if shy people had a diary. Like
that they also get a chance to express
themselves somehow which they probably
didn’t have in school because they are not
confident enough to raise their hand. This
is a bit how I would imagine Flora to be if
she would have attended school with me
and that’s why she should also get a diary
from me.
5. 4th Gift
My 4th gift to give to Flora would be real and good
friend. Although Emilio becomes her friend during
the story, I don’t think that there is a huge
connection between them because they are two
different genders. So I would give Flora a best girl
friend. Someone that can deal with Flora’s sadness,
confusion, energy and happiness. I think every
single person in this world needs to have a best
friend that supports them in hard times and helps
them have fun. Life is not always easy and relaxed
as Flora’s life. She has to struggle with much more
things than her other siblings do. A lot of the time
there’s stress and fear that is not so easy to solve
alone and that is when you can use a friend to talk
to and go to for advice and suggestions. A best
friend is exactly that someone who can help you out
in the worst situations in life.
6. 5th Gift
My 5th gift and last one to give to Flora would be a
diamond. She has already stolen a few others so she
can escape from her home to Venice. She had to
risk a good employee of the palazzo being fired and
of course herself. I think giving her one last
diamond, that would be bigger than all the others,
would make her really happy. Of course, it would be
a huge decision to make if she wanted to flee but
also it is a dream come true. Connecting back to
how bad she was treated in her home, I would also
feel like she can have an object that is really nice
and powerful in order for her to become a bit more
confident and rise higher. The ring that Nonna had
is one of the objects that Flora can now hang on to
after the death of Nonna, but that diamond that I
would give her could be a ticket to almost anything
but of course only whenever she is ready to move
on to something new.
