Analysis of the Poem :' The Extasie' by John DonneNirav Amreliya
The document is an analysis of John Donne's poem "The Extasie" written by Nirav Amreliya. It provides background on Donne and the poem, analyzing the literary devices used. The poem depicts a state of rapture and true love as ecstasy, exploring Donne's philosophy of platonic love between souls without physical pleasures. While their souls converse, the lovers' bodies lay motionless. The analysis concludes the poem examines achieving self-realization and divine transcendence by merging with God's wholeness.
Module-3 American Poetry "The Emperor of Ice Creamjitugohil
The poem "The Emperor of Ice-Cream" by Wallace Stevens describes a funeral. It is structured in two stanzas, one describing the preparation of ice cream in the kitchen and the other the covering of the dead woman's body with a sheet in the bedroom. The poem represents the philosophy of "carpe diem" - to enjoy life while it lasts, as death comes for all. It depicts the funeral preparations in a plain, unsentimental way, emphasizing that death should not be romanticized but faced as a natural fact. The repeating line "The only emperor is the emperor of ice-cream" refers ambiguously to both life and death, suggesting they are inextricably bound together.

This document provides an introduction to translation. It defines translation as expressing the meaning of a text in one language (the source language) into another language (the target language) while preserving semantic and stylistic equivalence. A translator's role is to render the author's intended meaning of a text into the target language. The document also discusses translation theory, aspects of text that must be considered in translation like message and intention, and the translation process.
This document discusses translation studies as an academic discipline. It defines translation studies as the field that deals with the theory, description, and application of translation. It notes that translation studies emerged as a formal discipline in the 20th century, with James Holmes laying the foundation for it as a distinct field. The document outlines some of the key areas and divisions within translation studies, such as pure vs applied studies, descriptive vs theoretical approaches, and different types of translation like literary, linguistic, cultural, and professional translation. It also discusses some common translation problems and issues.

Rapporto tra fabula e intreccio
:
• coincidenza (l’ordine cronologico è
lineare)
• sfasatura (rottura della sequenza
logico-cronologica).
6. Dimensione temporale
Quando fabula e intreccio non coincidono
emergono le anacronie:
le analessi e le prolessi.
Gli eventi reali della storia si susseguono
in ordine cronologico,
ma la loro disposizione nel
racconto può avere un ordine
diverso.
7. Dimensione temporale
Periodo storico della vicenda narrata:
Indeterminato;
chiaramente espresso;

spesso alterano l'ordine cronologico
della fabula.
