EEI provides an update on climate change initiatives involving the electric power industry to the Chairman of the Council on Environmental Quality. Specifically, EEI mentions that (1) it is enclosing information on its member companies' participation in EEI's Power Partners program and two other industry initiatives, (2) several other climate initiatives have been launched by other power sector groups, and (3) EEI will continue working closely with the Department of Energy and other government agencies on developing strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the electric power sector.
