To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing this letter in support of Matthew Pulsifer’s candidacy to be selected as an intern
for your program. I have known Matthew Pulsifer as a student since 2015. Mr. Pulsifer was
a student my both my Professional Skills Development course and in my Business
Communication Management course. Matthew’s intelligence, maturity, and preparedness
have truly left a positive impression on me.
Matthew’s commitment to academic excellence, his intellectual aptitude, and his maturity
and composure should merit further consideration for being chosen as a candidate for your
internship program. Mr. Pulsifer’s basic academic standards are genuinely above and
beyond what is expected of the average college student or citizen in his age group, and I
think that his complete skill set is very diverse and complimentary.
In terms of academic excellence and intellectual aptitude, Mr. Pulsifer’s contributions to
class discussion were always well thought-out and showed evidence of insightful critical
thinking. He is truly interested in learning and is able to succeed independently as well as
with groups. He has the ability to speak freely and extemporaneously with poise and
confidence and is able to pull precise examples from a wide body of knowledge. His
projects all showed signs of progressive academic inquiry and he always pursued topics to
research that challenged him to learn more about the business world.
I am particularly impressed with Mr. Pulsifer’s focus and intensity. In terms of his maturity
and composure, this talented young man was always prepared and in class early. He has a
truly pleasant, professional attitude and a well-rounded personality as well. I have received
every consideration from his as a student. He is full of respect and a sense of fellowship
and brings out the best he has to offer no matter what might stand in his way.
Matthew truly knows how to give his best commitment no matter what task is at hand, and I
am truly proud of the level of performance he is able to maintain as a student, employee,
and active campus community member.
Matthew is one of the few students I have worked with in the past 14 years that already
owns and manages his own business. Matthew started a landscaping business 4 years ago
and has been able to successfully double his client base each year, which I think should
show you how much promise he has for the Real Estate industry in terms of transferrable
professional and interpersonal skills. Mr. Pulsifer has also been able to maintain all of his
school and career responsibilities while also working as a Student Assistant for the Men’s
Basketball team at Longwood for the past 2 years. Each of these responsibilities require a
great deal of his time and service, and Matthew willingly and enthusiastically embraces all
of these roles with true pride and commitment along with his studies.
(Continued on page 2)
Mr. Pulsifer’s honesty and integrity are commendable and it has been a pleasure having the
honor of teaching this particular student. Matthew adapts well under pressure, he has great
general adaptability and flexibility, and he knows how to be pleasant with others and display
a cheerful, supportive attitude. He is capable of being very independent and can complete
tasks without supervision. He knows how to effectively communicate well with his peers
and supervisors and he has a sincere concern for others. I genuinely cannot say enough
positive things about the talents and demeanor of this student.
I would recommend Matthew without any hesitation as a candidate for your internship
program; he genuinely represents the humble and dedicated scholars that I believe you are
trying to educate and support. He has the maturity and intelligence to allow this opportunity
to help his flourish as both a scholar and business professional as well.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have further questions or concerns. Thank
you very much for your time and consideration on behalf of this applicant.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Park
