Objective

Profile
After earning a high school diploma, I earned an inspection certification in the
aeronautics industry and began working in that field. After experiencing reduction of
force departures in that industry, I migrated to the petrochemical industry using my NDT
skills. I earned my API and NBIC certifications while working and raising a family with

provide technical support to underwriting, sales and claims personnel.

3. Special Activities - Performed A.I. and loss control duties for ARCO Products, Los
Angeles Refinery. Other responsibilities include servicing clients such as Jefferson
Smurfit Corporation, Akzo Nobel and Watson Cogeneration to name a few.
Maintenance Inspector – 1995 to 1996
SCM Chemical - Baltimore, Maryland
Developed a plant inspection program along with coordinating/supervising API 510 and
NDE inspection activities. Assisted in developing the NBIC R-Stamp Program for the
Maintenance Department. Duties also included consulting Project Engineering on
various code and quality issues deemed necessary during the fabrication, repair and
altering of new and existing piping, pressure vessels and equipment. Reviewing welding
procedures and drawings for the above noted and also monitor plant maintenance and
general contractor maintenance activities in the Sulfate and Rutile plants. These plants
manufacture Titanium Tetrachloride pigment for paints and gypsum.
Special Activities - SCM maintenance group representative on the Standard and
Specification Development Committee, Process Safety Management and was also the
representative for the maintenance group on the Safety Improvement Committee.
Developed a vendor surveillance program and also performed necessary shop inspections
on piping and process equipment during in-process fabrication.
Inspector – 1992 to 1995
Vista Chemical Company – Houston, Texas
Performed maintenance inspection activities, which included the supervising of contract
inspectors during turnaround and on stream inspections in Vistas’ Linear Alcohol
Benzene, Alcohol and Polyvinyl Chlorine plants. Performed shop surveillance
inspections for Vistas’ seven chemical plants. Also performed Owner/User authorized
inspector duties for repairs, alterations, and certificate inspections for four plants in Code
States per the NBIC and API code/standard requirements and made AutoCAD drawings
along with maintaining the corrosion monitoring programs.
Projects – (Vista Chemical Company)
September 1994 – May 1995 – Vista Chemical 1 million pound/day producing Polyvinyl
Chlorine Plant was expanded using European Vinyl Corporation (EVC) Resin External
Stripping Technology that increased production capacity by 30 percent. Duties included
coordinating and performing inspections for the Vista Oklahoma City Chemical Plant
Express Construction Project (Project Inspector). Also worked along with mechanical,
design and process engineering groups while monitoring and giving technical advice on
erection and construction.
Mechanical Inspector – 1991 to 1992
Conoco – Ponca City, Oklahoma
Performed mechanical inspections at Conoco Refineries in the United States and
Overseas (United Kingdom). Inspections were performed in the Crude, Isom, Platformer,
Delay Coker and Alky units. Mechanical inspections were performed in Conoco Gas
Plants, production fields and Offshore Drilling Platforms. Surveillance inspections and
piping project work was also performed for Conoco Plants located throughout the United
States.
