I. Intended Learning Outcomes
Through varied learning activities, the grade 8 students with at least 80 % of
accuracy will:
a. identify a rational algebraic expression
b. determine the steps in evaluating a rational algebraic expression; and
c. evaluate a rational algebraic expression.
.
II. Learning Content

and strips of paper (soft copy), worldwall
III. Learning Experiences
A. Activity
The student will play the game entitled “Do you belong with me?” through
Wordwall interactive game. The students will go the this link
https://wordwall.net/resource/7142866/do-you-belong-me and play the game with
time limit. They will be given 30 seconds to categorize certain expressions and will
identify where they belong.
B. Analysis
The students will analyze and solve the given situation.
Questions:
1. Given the expression 10x = 300, how many pages does each
module has?
2. What if Teacher Justin printed 450 pages, how many students
can have the module given the value of x? (Let y represents the
number of students.
C. Abstraction
The expressions which are not polynomials are called rational
algebraic when a variable is substituted with a number in a rational
expression, it is called evaluating rational algebraic expressions.
Teacher Justin is printing his module for the students
living in the area which is affected by the Enhanced
Community Quarantine due to the Corona Virus. His module has
“x” pages. If he printed 300 pages of the module, how many
pages does each module has if he has 10 students?
D. Application
The students will answer the riddle through evaluating each algebraic expression
when x = 1 and y = -3 and then, finding the letter of their answer inside the box.
IV. Evaluation
V. Assignment
