adapts to their likes to present five sentences regarding comparatives about the topic
they prefer.

Having practiced structures of comparative sentences the students will be able to
produce and to say to the rest of the class their own sentences about famous singers and
music genders.

2. Materials Markers, a roulette, images of famous people and places, pieces of paper with pictures
of music instruments (Guitar, piano, drums, saxophone, electric guitar), pieces of paper
with words to create sentences.
Problems Solutions
- Students use cellphones in class.
- Students misbehave.
- The teacher reminds students one rule of the
class is to keep away cellphones during the
lessons.
- The teacher decreases the tone of voice for
students to be quiet or make eye contact
with the students.

Warm up 10’
The teacher organizes the students in two groups and
makes them play “Electricity”. It consists on
organizing the students into two lines and each
student holds the hand of the other. The teacher
makes them close their eyes and when she grips the
hands of the first student in each line, they must grip
the hands of the other until the last person feels that
“Electricity”. When the last student of each line feels
the electricity, they must run to the board and write as
many adjectives in English as they can in 15 seconds.
The group with more adjectives written on the board
gets a point.
Students are
divided in 2 groups
of 16 students.
Presentation 10’
The teacher uses images to establish comparisons
between sports, music genders, people, and cities.

Sentences used with the images:
1. Selena Gomez is younger than Rihanna.
2. Eminem is older than Maluma.
3. Rap music is faster than Vallenato.
4. Cristiano Ronaldo is richer than James Rodriguez.
5. Basketball ball is bigger than Football ball.
The teacher organizes students into 5 groups by
giving them a piece of paper with pictures of music
instruments (Guitar, piano, drums, saxophone, and
electric guitar). (Annex 2) Then, the teacher gives
some papers with words to each group; they must
organize the words to create a sentence using
3. comparatives. (Annex 3)
Practice 12’ Each group must select a representative to pass in
front and roll the “roulette” (Annex 4), depending on
the place the roulette points out, the student have to
create a sentence using comparisons between famous
singers and music genders.

Production 20’
In the same groups, the students must choose an
option to present 5 sentences using comparatives
about the topic they prefer (sports, music, people,
etc). (A song, a role play, TV news, or a poem). The
teacher gives 10 minutes to plan and elaborate what
they are going to say. Then, the students perform the
activity in front of the class.
The teacher asks the question to 4 groups to give
feedback.
