Topic: The life-cycle of the butterfly


Warmer (5’)

Ss will play “The hang man” with some words we previously introduced that are related to
their work on caterpillars. They will have to enter this web page:
http://www.hangman.no/ select the language, and enter the play code that we will give
them: htpcbefjcjda




After they have played with the five words we introduced, we will go on working on the
webquest.

Web (30’)

We’ll continue working on the webquest “Caterpillars”
This time, we’ll work with points 3 and 4.

In point 3, Ss will have to investigate about the anatomy of butterflies; invent an own
butterfly; decorate it and with the information gathered from the web pages, indicate all
its body parts. Afterwards, they will have to write a brief description of it. The links they
will search are the following:

            In point 4 they will have to investigate about the life-cycle of the butterfly, and answer
            some questions in the same word document as for the previous questions. (We will

     What next (10’)

     Teachers will bring a big poster with the picture of a butterfly and all its parts. Some Ss will
     read their descriptions, and then, one by one, they will stick their drawings on the big
     poster.
