COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
THROUGH RESILIENCE
The digital sector is a catalyst for Leeds City Region’s largest
and priority growth sectors: health, advanced manufacturing
and financial services, as well as sub-sectors such as food
and drink, telecoms and retail.
We have the highest concentration of digital, data and technology
innovators in the UK, plus outstanding connectivity that global
businesses already rely on, as well as plans to expand
our region’s capacity and resilience.
With an independent internet exchange, we can offer the
required level of resilience, data transfer speed and
cyber-security. That’s why our digital infrastructure is trusted
to host databases managed by leading financial data analysis
companies like Callcredit and Acxiom, as well as public
institutions with sensitive data like the Health and Social
Care Information Centre.
Resilient Infrastructure
Reducing the risk of data loss, increasing cyber-security
and providing low-cost/high-capacity data routes that
enable split-second transactions around the world.
• Leeds operates its own data centres and network
infrastructure, providing London-independent
disaster recovery
• High-speed fibre routes east and west out of the UK
which are independent of London
• The home of some of the highest levels of HMC Accredited
security datacentres, already recognised by over 25 of the

regional and national ISPs to exchange data at low cost and
speeds in multiples of 10 gigabits per second – essential for
enabling transactions in the Financial Services sector
