1. Lecture 2: The role and importance
of information in society
2. Plan:
1. The concept of the information society, its meaning. Information is an
integral part of human life.
2. Principles of fairness and impartiality in information.
3. Relationship of information with social and cultural life, political and
economic processes. Art, sport and spiritual life.

5. Trends in information flow and formation of information culture.
6. The power of social influence of mass media. The influence of information
on the social stratum.
7. The importance of media and information in the activation of citizens in the
new Uzbekistan.
3. • Information is learning the world, acquiring
new knowledge, and conducting analysis
main element. In fact, it takes information
from the surrounding world "mastering" and
then managing, systematizing, collecting
and delivering it skills of world civilized
processes in the historical past had an
important place in its formation. It is a new
stage in the history of information and
humanity, as we see it now familiar media
was "discovered". An important aspect of
the media is to inform people about
phenomena, events, trends. Undoubtedly,
the Senate has gone through huge stages of
development from announcers who inform
about their decisions, to newspapers and
radio, and today, it includes both the
Internet and televisionto the global
information system, receiving other
communication channels. Radio, TV
channels, internet media, telegram
channels, social networks, messengers - all
these resources deliver information to you
with us included in the giving process.
4.
5. • An information society is a society where the usage, creation, distribution,
manipulation and integration of information is a significant activity. Its main drivers
are information and communication technologies, which have resulted in rapid growth
of a variety of forms of information. Proponents of this theory posit that these
technologies are impacting most important forms of social organization,
including education, economy, health, government, warfare, and levels
of democracy. The people who are able to partake in this form of society are
sometimes called either computer users or even digital citizens, defined by K.
Mossberger as “Those who use the Internet regularly and effectively”. This is one of
many dozen internet terms that have been identified to suggest that humans are
entering a new and different phase of society.[5]
• Some of the markers of this steady change may be technological, economic,
occupational, spatial, cultural, or a combination of all of these. Information society is
seen as a successor to industrial society. Closely related concepts are the post-
industrial society (post-fordism), post-modern society, computer society
and knowledge society, telematic society, society of the
spectacle (postmodernism), Information Revolution and Information Age, network
society (Manuel Castells) or even liquid modernity.

6. Principles of fairness and impartiality in
information
• Fairness in journalism means exploring all sides of
• an issue and reporting the findings accurately.
• Members of the public should never be used to exaggerate the
importance of a story. As a journalist you have a responsibility to
examine your own motives, and ensure that your personal feelings and
emotions do not influence what you report, whom you talk to, or
determine which elements of the story you highlight.
• You also need to think carefully about the language and tone you use to
ensure that it doesn’t give an inaccurate and unfair representation of
the facts. Your job is to inform the public debate, not manipulate that
debate. You are working on behalf of the public, not using them for
your own ends.
• A journalist should have no motivation other than presenting sourced
and verified facts. You should not have a desired outcome – that’s
activism. And some would argue that journalism and activism are not
compatible. You do your job regardless of the outcome.
7. ThesearethefivecoreprinciplesofjournalismallFMAmembershavetoadhereto:
Truth and
Accuracy
Journalists
cannot always
guarantee ‘truth’,
but getting the
facts right is the
cardinal principle
of journalism. We
should always
strive for
accuracy, give all
the relevant facts
we have and
ensure that they
have been
checked. When
we cannot
corroborate
information we
should say so.
Independence
Journalists must be
independent voices;
we should not act,
formally or
informally, on behalf
of special interests
whether political,
corporate or cultural.
We should declare to
our editors – or the
audience – any of
our political
affiliations, financial
arrangements or
other personal
information that
might constitute a
conflict of interest.
Humanity
Most stories have
at least two sides.
While there is no
obligation to
present every side
in every piece,
stories should be
balanced and add
context.
Objectivity is not
always possible,
and may not
always be
desirable (in the
face for example
of brutality or
inhumanity), but
impartial
reporting builds
trust and
confidence.
Fairness and
Impartiality
Journalists
should do
no harm.
What we
publish or
broadcast
may be
hurtful, but
we should
be aware of
the impact
of our
words and
images on
the lives of
others.
Accountability
A sure sign of
professionalism and
responsible
journalism is the
ability to hold
ourselves
accountable. When
we commit errors
we must correct
them and our
expressions of
regret must be
sincere not cynical.
We listen to the
concerns of our
audience. We may
not change what
readers write or say
but we will always
provide remedies
when we are unfair.

• Mass media industry is created by the media corporations such
as radio, TV, newspapers, , cinema and also by the mass
consumption focused communication agencies such as
advertisement, public relations, media planning agencies. In
today’s technologies, industry has structurally changed with the
internet based mediums, and gained new forms of production
and distribution. Today, information is in a new era; interactive,
more personal, has both mass and individual access power, able
to cristalize the social structure for global marketing networks,
and also enables consumer for producing the content.
• Information society corporations has social, cultural and political
impacts and restructures both mass audiences and societal
organization via relations of production and practices through
organizational structures, establishing a way of realization of

11. The role and importance of information in the process of education
and upbringing
• Information plays a very significant role in the field of
education and upbringing. Information is field which works on
a broad scale, both the social and mass media played different
task. Because the power of Information is so wide and it can
be used to educate people at very little cost. During online
teaching many of persons can be taught at the same time. And
at that point allow students and teachers to connect, and
share their ideas. Clark (1983) said that," debates that learning
is a process to acquire knowledge. It needs hard work and
sometimes will make students frustrated and get bored, so
that they lose their attention to a lesson. In this case, the use
of Information in teaching- learning process is needed to
attract students' attention and to make teaching learning
activities more interesting and also effective."
12.
13. Trends in information flow and formation of information
culture.
• In the age of communication indeed media influence all dimensions of people
in every society, especially cultural and social dimensions. Media send us a lot
of information every day then this data will impress our life and of course this
may has a huge amount of influence on our children's life too. Therefore
information policy states that the information play a decisive role in cultural
development: media with different policies, facilitate and expedite the country's
cultural development . Today developed society is a term which can be
addressed to society in which social and economic issues like Per Capita
Income, Gross national Product (GNP), Death Rate and their effect on literacy
as well as education and knowledge of people will be considered.
In a developed society, new information produce and distribute desired data so
they will promote knowledge and awareness in the society by that; therefore it
will help society to achieve elevation and progress.
Although media can mix and balance our deep culture and beliefs then they can
help people to promote their culture so it cause cultural development in each
society.
It seems, for cultural development as well as national dignity and solidarity, we
should plan our cultural policy upon information policy then it should be base
on development prospect in information society age.
19. The importanceof media and informationin the activationof
citizens in the new Uzbekistan.
• Material and technical base is a unique feature of the mass
information market of Uzbekistan and the main resources are still in
the hands of the state (especially television). This is the market does
not allow the development of the media market in accordance with
the natural laws of the economy. The President of the Republic of
Uzbekistan also touched on this situation and referred journalists in
his materialscalled to be more critical. Press and media on June 26,
2020 In his address to his employees, he said: "Of course, today we
will cover all areas, that's it including, we are looking for ways to
develop the information sector. Naturally, at the same time with
achievements there are also flaws and mistakes. When it comes to
this, it should be recognized that today revealing the strict demands
and important trends of the day, critical analysis, people to boldly
introduce topics and issues of concern to the public debate is still
not a priority in the national media space.
20. • While ongoing reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev
have led to improvements on some issues, including a modest
reduction in media repression and reforms that mandated
more female legislative candidates, Uzbekistan remains an
authoritarian regime with little movement toward
democratization. The media are tightly controlled by the
authorities, and reports of torture and other ill-treatment by
security forces persist.

24. Conclusion
• As we can see, information is used for peace and good
purposes There are many ways and possibilities of not using it.
And we, in fact, of information We are faced with such views
every day, and from this information We do not even realize
that it is a negative use. Why are we talking about it and why
do we need to know it? Undoubtedly, we want to maximize
ourselves, that's exactly what information is to protect from
negative aspects. After all, no one wants to be deceived or he
doesn't want them to control him without knowing it. But how
to do that can be achieved After all, the amount of
information in the world is unlimited. And which one is it
which is a lie, which is true, which is a trick, and which is
sincere how it can be divided into various negative
associations and groups can not fall?
