A year long project that would pave the way to integrate ongoing 21st century leaning into my Jewish Studies classroom. I have utilized educational technology tools in my classroom for the past few years to create end of unit projects, assess comprehension and practice reading fluency. The vision for this project was to better make use of iPads and other forms of educational technology tools on an ongoing basis to stimulate and encourage more conversational Hebrew both inside and outside of the classroom.

Action Research Project
1. An action research project explored using video chat to improve language skills in 3-4 year old ESL students. The hypothesis was that familiarity with technologies like Skype would empower students and facilitate communication.
2. Initial activities with webcams helped students learn camera skills. Video calls were then conducted with teachers, assistants, administrators and parents. Reactions varied depending on familiarity with the person on the call.
3. Familiarity and an existing relationship were found to be important for students to feel comfortable chatting. With more practice and calls with trusted adults, video chatting shows promise for helping language development.
Semi Detailed lesson plan in ENGLISH: Clauses
The lesson plan aims to teach 7th grade students about using clauses appropriately by having them identify and construct two types of clauses - main and subordinate clauses. Students will work in groups to analyze sentences, underline the different clauses, and explain the clause types. They will discuss examples and why knowing the distinction is important. The teacher will assess students by having them identify subordinate clauses in sample sentences. The lesson incorporates group activities, discussions, and presentations to engage students and reinforce the concepts.
