• Definition: the communication, practices, and learning
  that occur in the home and community
• Objective:
   • Serve as a cultural knowledge base
   • Provide strategies of resistance
• Benefit:
   • Better understanding of the strategies will allow us to develop
       educational policy and practices that value and build on
       household knowledge in order to enhance Chicana academic
       success and college participation
