This presentation contains about the layers of the atmosphere which has 5 layers in atmosphere
The first layer is troposphere
The second layer is stratosphere
The third layer is mesosphere
The fourth layer is ionosphere and
The fifth layer is exosphere
2. ATMOSPHERE
• Our earth is surrounded by a huge
envelope of air called atmosphere
• Atmosphere extends to more than
800km above the surface of earth
• It protects us from harmful rays
coming from sun
• Availability of air is thicker near
the earths surface and, it gradually
decrease when we go higher
3. LAYER OF THE ATMOSPHERE
• The atmosphere is made up of five different layers
The troposphere
The stratosphere
The mesosphere
The ionosphere
The exosphere
5. TROPOSPHERE
• Lowest layer of the atmosphere (closest to earth)
• We all live in this layer of atmosphere
• Most of the mass of the atmosphere is in troposphere
• Clouds, weather changes happen in this layer
6. STRATOSPHERE
• Second layer of the atmosphere
• It is 50km above the troposphere
• Here another layer is placed
❑ Ozone layer – it protects the living things from the harmful UV
rays from sun, altitude increase and temperature also increase
because ozone layer absorbs heat
• Jets fly here because it is calm
7. MESOSPHERE
• It is the third layer of the atmosphere
• Meso means middle
• Reaches from 80 km above the earths surface
• It protects the earth from being hit from meteoroids which
comes from space
8. IONOSPHERE
• The Ionosphere is part of Earth's upper atmosphere,
between 80 and about 600 km
• where Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) and x-ray solar radiation
ionizes the atoms and molecules thus creating a layer of
electrons.
• The ionosphere is important because it reflects and modifies
radio waves used for communication and navigation.
9. EXOSPHERE
• The exosphere is the highest and top layer of the Earth's
atmosphere.
• It marks the edge of space.
• There are very few molecules in this layer.
• The lightest atmospheric gases such as hydrogen and helium
exist throughout the exosphere.
