This document discusses plagiarism, including what it is, the different types, how to avoid it, the history and consequences. Plagiarism is defined as stealing another's work and passing it off as one's own. There are several types such as copying verbatim, changing words but keeping the same meaning, or stealing another's ideas or style. To avoid plagiarism, one should cite sources, use quotation marks, and paraphrase rather than copy directly. The penalties for plagiarism range from fines up to $250,000 or jail time of up to 10 years depending on the severity of the offense. 5. How to avoid the types of
Plagiarism
1. C.P.P. : The way you avoid C.P.P. is to

3. W.S. : you put quotation marks and cite the
author/website.
4. S.P. : you should just avoid the style how the
author is reasoning.
5. M.P. : You should cite the author/website
that you used it from.
6. I.D. : To avoid you should know the
difference from an author’s answer from
public domain.

6. How to avoid plagiarizing
O So long story short you should:
O One way to avoid is to cite.
O Another is quotation marks. “”
O Finally is Paraphrasing or summarizing
another person’s spoken/written words

7. When did it start?
O It was started on May 1790.
O It was passed by the congress.
O And was started in two weeks.

8. The price
O The price of copyrighting is
$100 and $50,000 depending
on what you copied.
O In some states it is a felony.
O “If you earn more than $2,500 from
copyrighted material, he or she may face
up to $250,000 in fines.”

9. Jail Time
O Normally the jail time is 1 year.
O But in some states you can get up to 10
years.

10. Netiquette
Netiquette was started in October, 1995
Some rules are:
O Don’t use all CAPITAL letters, it means your
shouting
O Also don’t put pictures of someone else
without there permission, things that go on the
internet stay on the internet.
O Use appropriate language, don’t say to others
you wouldn’t to them face-to-face.
O Know who you are messaging.
