 Plagiarism is basically taking someone else’s work and
taking credit for it.
 If you copy someone’s work and turn it in to your teacher
without telling the person you copied it, then that’s
plagiarism.
 If you copy 3 or more of someone else’s work without
giving them credit for it then that is plagiarism.

3.  One way to avoid plagiarism is to cite your references.
 Recite which cite you got it from, the person’s name, and the year.
 Do not paraphrase unless you are told to by your teacher.
 If you type a direct quote or phrase that someone else said then put
in “quotation marks”.
 Always include a reference page at the end of your work so that
when your teacher looks back at it then she/he can make sure that
you didn’t plagiarize.
 Try using your own words if you are paraphrasing.
 Look at the bottom of the site and make sure it doesn’t have © or
Copyright.

 Plagiarizing is very serious. If you plagiarize then you are
stealing someone else’s work, and stealing is a crime!
 One consequence of plagiarizing is that the owner of the
stolen work can sue you and you will be in a lot of trouble.
 You could fail the assignment or fail your
whole class!
 You could get put in jail if you plagiarize.
 You will not be trusted by your teacher
anymore.

5.  Netiquette is basically being smart on the internet.
 There are many important rules of being netiquette.
 1 – Make sure you read over everything you type.
 2 – Do not use all caps.
 3 – Don’t lie to anyone while you are online.
 4 – Don’t try to act like anyone else, just be yourself.
 5 – Treat everyone else how you would want to be
treated.
 6 – Do not send spam messages to anyone.

6.  It is important to follow the rules of Netiquette due to the
fact that if you don’t then you will have many
consequences.
 You could get kicked off of the site that you are on.
 You could get in a lot of trouble and when you are not
being netiquette then it annoys people.
 If you say something bad to another person then they will
report you to the site and you will have to face
consequences.

law that states that protects
other people’s work without
permission.
 Whenever you create
something new such as a
poem then it automatically
gets copyrighted.
 You must get permission to
use information that is
copyrighted
 You also must give other
people permission to use
your information if it is
copyrighted.

you will have to destroy it and pay a fine.
