Another jumping issue, with more snippets and more art. Blok Collective to jazz up underpass. South Holland Open Arts exhibition and TN gets abstract with Oundle art group.
Presented by Pundole Art Gallery - Mumbai, EW Art - Los Angeles, Rob Dean Art - London.
This exhibition presents the work of five artists: Bhuri Bai, Ladoo Bai, Narmada Prasad Tekam, Nankushiya Shyam and Ram Singh Urveti. Their paintings, which are being exhibited in L.A. for the first time, form part of a collection built up over the last five years by the Pundole Art Gallery, Mumbai. The artists represent an emergent third field of artistic production in contemporary Indian culture which is neither metropolitan nor rural, neither modernist nor traditional, neither derived from academic training nor inherited without change from tribal custom.
Art & Beyond Special Online Issue is dedicated to Virtual Exhibition Planet Of Joy organized by LarGallery during the Spring/Summer to promote participating artists who choose to be part of the publication. As a promotional publication Art & Beyond awarded 4 artists to be on the covers and you may read learn about amazing artists on the pages of the magazine.
The wheel has turned and we have come full circle. The season is all about a return to innocence— the new aesthetic that speaks of a return to simplicity and nativity.
From complex gadgets and high-tech modernity, the journey has led to a search for roots, traditions and culture. With works from some of the most successful and innovative artists in contemporary art, Artflute’s picks for this season are eminently covetable.

3. As an artist I feel compelled to record the many
wonderful and fascinating places I’ve seen, to
capture their unique light, history
and ambiance. Being primarily a Urban Landscape
painter its the joy of living places and forgotten
time remembered that attracts me.
The other elements I’m fascinated by are the
effects of light and colour with their interchanging
dynamic that creates mood & atmosphere. Be it
dark mysterious night scenes, bright sunlight or
the wonderful jewel like colours found in nature’s
exotic flora & fauna.
As one might expect streets, roads and paths
feature very strongly in my work with diversions
into nature and myth.
About the Artwork
For me these wonderful exotic birds typify the
Colourful Republics of Central and South America
with their magical appearance and jewel like
colours.
Full of life and vitality, constantly moving and
changing in a vibrant dancing parade.

ella krestensen
Ella Krestensen is a Sydney based freelance
artist and designer who works with 2D and 3D
media to explore the patterns of her surrounding
landscape.
Focusing on patterned, colour-laden surfaces, the
artist has used naturally occurring shapes and
designs to create this ‘floating on air/ eyre’ series
of acrylic paintings and limited edition prints,
inspired by several flights across the Kati Thanda-
Lake Eyre basin.
Using a multi-media approach, including painting,
drawing, collage and digital design, enables her to
experiment, develop and innovate constantly in
her work.
Krestensen has undertaken studio residencies
in Paris, Vienna and Prague and exhibited in
group exhibitions this year, with LemoArt Gallery
Berlin, and ArtExpo New York. She is the recipient
of a number of national art prizes, has recently
completed a Master of Arts at University of
Wollongong, and holds a BFA in drawing and
sculpture from COFA, UNSW.
About the Artwork
The ‘floating on air/eyre’ series are schematic
paintings and prints of the Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre
landscape as seen from an aerial perspective. The
series invites the viewer to explore and speculate
on the patterns formed by the interplay of clouds
and land in this iconic Australian location.

iris toren
The study and portrayal of beauty, both natural
and man-made, is Iris’ inspiration and aspiration.
Iris was a student of the prestigious Julian Ashton
Art School in Sydney, where she obtained her
diplomas in drawing and painting and received the
Henry Gibbons Art Prize in her graduating year.
In her portraits, Iris captures the unique spirit and
character of the sitter. Her oriental-inspired still lifes
celebrate vibrant colours and elegant forms found
in daily life. Her series of sketches after classical
sculpture pays homage to the old masters. In her
landscapes, she explores the balance between the
fragile beauty of nature with its enduring power.
About the Artwork
For my Latino Colour Republic body of work, I
have chosen to submit 5 richly colourful artworks:
a trilogy of dance portraits, an Argentinian
architectural painting and floral still life of a native
South American flower.
The dance trilogy celebrates Salsa, Tango and Belly
dance. I am a keen dancer and have chosen my
teachers as the subjects for these paintings. I have
aimed to capture the unique spirit and joy of these
dances through the use of pure, vibrant colour. On
my travels in Buenos Aires I stumbled across the
remarkable and beautiful ‘Casa de los Lirios’, an art
nouveau building in heart of the city inspired by
and decorated by iris forms. The soft curves of the
undulating façade, the iris leaf-like wrought-iron
balconies and entrance all celebrate the beauty
of the iris flower. In my painting I have chosen
to bring the building’s stone irises to life, imbuing
them with their characteristic purple and yellow.
In my still life, ‘Bouganvillea in Blue Glass’ I have
chosen to depict the native South American flower
in its pink and orange varieties. The translucent
petals and cool glass lend themselves perfectly to
watercolour.

Originally from a little town in the south of France,
somewhere between the Alps mountains and the
Riviera, I’m currently living and working in Sydney.
I’ve been lucky enough to be brought up in a
family of artists and have always loved sketching
and drawing for as long as I can remember. Since
then, my work has taken me around the world,
which helps me get an appreciation for people,
their stories and the diversity of their culture. This
journey is what inspires my work, which style is
mostly figurative to capture expressive people’s
emotions.
About the Artwork
My artwork is about capturing people’s
expressions and emotions through drawing and
painting. I love the precision of pencils and the
freedom of pastels.

I had a chance to travel to Cuba a few years ago.
This was a fantastic experience. This country is
fabulous to explore and full of contradictions at

The ‘Dia de los Muertos’ (Festival of the Dead)
is on my bucket list, as I’m fascinated by this
ancient tradition. Not only by the beautiful colors
and costumes. But also because this important
moment is for Mexican - and Latin America’s
people - the time to celebrate and remember
their passed families and
friends through festivities,
celebrations... and life!

“My mojito in the Bodeguita

apreciation for Hemingway’s
writing and stories, a vibrant
testimony of Spain and Latin
America’s culture and history.
Hemingway was so passionate
about Cuba and its people to
the point that he considered
himself a ‘Cubano Sato” which
translates into a garden variety
Cuban.
