The document outlines potential fears in taking on passion-driven work and different leadership styles like being a provider, preparer, proclaimer, or praiser. It encourages daring to dream and being an idealist.

•
Your perception of yourself is very complex. Similar to how you cannot see your own nose, you may often be blinded to the things that you are best at. It can be really hard to identify your brightest talents and they are often in the places you least expect. You may even be very good at things that you perceive yourself as being bad at. There are many good reasons to want to explore your talents but it's going to take a little work.
One good thing to think about was what your childhood was like. What did you do a lot as a kid? What did you enjoy? What were you known for? Sometimes this can reveal some of your deepest talents and certainly will reveal interests that can be probed further. Think about your hobbies as your personality is made by them they are the things you do regularly and your hidden talent is that which you can do better than everyone so focus on your hobbies and how you do them every single step.
• Another thing you can think about are the times in your life that you've been challenged. Think about the tough situations that you've had to deal with. Times of trial can often reveal your hidden skills. For example, when your dad had a heart attack, maybe you kept your head and called 911. Staying alert and calm in an emergency is a really useful talent.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. The Seed of Passion
• Passion is born when God calls you and says,
“Look, this is a need.”
• You see the need, you know you can fill the
need and deep in your heart you know your
life will never be the same.
3. The Roots of Passion
• Ask yourself these questions to discover what
you are truly passionate about:
1. When you read God’s Word, are there
common themes in the verse you mark?
2. What breaks your heart?
3. Who and what would you be
inconvenienced for day after day?
4. The Boomerang Effect
• Passion is not “I’ll scratch your back, you
scratch mine”, but giving yourself fully to God
and trusting the results to Him.
• Sometimes you receive a deep sense of
personal satisfaction knowing your life
counted in the life of another.
• Other times you won’t even know the fruit,
this side of heaven, but the sense of God
smiling at your obedience is reward enough
for your soul.
5. The Fear of Passion
• You may fear the unknown
• You may fear the responsibility of carrying the
burden.
• You may fear burnout from caring too much.
• You may feel inadequate or unprepared.
6. Leadership Style
• The Provider
– She sees a need and quietly goes about the task of
providing the need.
– Leads from behind the scenes
– Sees the details and likes them done right
– Leads like Martha
– Downfall is that she judges others by their
willingness or unwillingness to serve others.
7. Leadership Style
• The Preparer
– Loves to teach others
– She wants others to have the “how-to’s” of life
– Mentors
– Negative – “my way is the right way” mentality
8. Leadership Style
• The Proclaimer
– Loves meeting new people
– Not afraid to speak
– Great storyteller
– Makes great Coordinators or DGL’s
9. Leadership Style
• The Praiser
– Leads by encouragement
– Cheerleader
– Has great faith in God
– Sees potential in others
– Team mom attitude
– Negative – if she fails at something, its like a
crushing blow to her self-esteem
