The study evaluates the phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity of Lactuca virosa leaf extract, focusing on its hydrogen peroxide scavenging efficiency. The results reveal that methanolic extracts exhibit a higher percentage yield and contain various beneficial compounds, including alkaloids and flavonoids, while demonstrating significant antioxidant activity. Overall, the findings support the traditional use of Lactuca virosa in herbal medicine due to its marked in vitro antioxidant effects.
