3. Purpose Students will be able to reinforce their knowledge of the family vocabulary and related vocabulary in Spanish. Students will be able to talk in Spanish about family and describe the relationships between family members. Students will be able to apply their knowledge about the unit by writing about family relationships in Spanish. Students will be able to learn about Spanish culture by learning about the Spanish royal family. Students will be able to utilize technological tools like Web2.0 tools and other applications to execute and create the task assigned.

4. Task Reading and Writing : Students will be asked to read about the Spanish royal family and then type a description in Spanish. They will have to mention names and relationships. Listening : Students will listen to a description of a family and based on this description, they will draw a family tree. Collaboration : Working in pairs, students will create a fictional family and create a family tree on Adobe Photoshop using ClipArt images or other “royalty free images”. Speaking : Students will upload the images to VoiceThread and then orally describe the family album by recording their voices.

5. Procedures Day 1 All the instructions and resources will be accessed through a wiki page on wikispaces. The wiki will have different pages for different assignments. Reading and Writing Assignment : Students will be asked to go to the Assignment 1 page. In this page, students will read about the Spanish royal family and then summarize the information by writing a short description in Spanish describing the Royal family. Students will have to mention the names of each family member. They will also save individual images of each member in order to use it in a family album. The first image will be the family tree, in which the students will describe the relationship between the family members. The images that follow will be individual images of each family member and a short description consisting of their name, age, likes and dislikes. Finally the students will showcase their presentations by embedding the VoiceThread presentations in the Presentations page of the wiki. The wiki will have tutorials about VoiceThread in order to assist the students.
