Founded in 1934 by Hans Trukenpolz in Mattighofen, Austria.
Car and motorcycle repair shop dealing primarily in metal
workings.
Bike manufacturing due to low business in the metal
workshop.
The company expanded throughout Austria
Once Ernst Kronreif becames partner in the Trukenpolz
company, the name is changed to KTM.
Milestones
1953-Businessman Ernst Kronreif became a sizable shareholder of
the company which was then renamed and registered as Kronreif
& Trunkenpolz Mattighofen
1954-KTM started serial production of R100. With just 20 employees,
motorcycles were built at the rate of three per day.
1955- Tourist 125cc model was developed
1957- KTM's first moped, called Mecky was launched
1988- US subsidiary KTM North America Inc. was founded in Lorain,
Ohio. International business then amounted to 72% of the
company turnover.

1994- It started production of Duke series of road
motorcycles.

It holds 48% of Stacks in KTM presently
from 2013
Bajaj announced that it would jointly
develop two new 125CC and 200CC
