4. Philanthropy etymologically means "love of humanity" in the sense of
caring for, nourishing, developing, enhancing, what it is to be human.
The word was first coined as an adjective, by Aeschylus in Prometheus
Bound (line 11, 460 BCE), to describe Prometheus' character as
"humanity-loving" (philanthropos tropos), for having given to the earliest
proto-humans, who had no culture, fire (symbolizing all the arts—
civilization) and "blind hope"(optimism).
The philanthropy is marked at its early stages by the Sponsors who as
more wealthy give to the ones in need within the society and contribute
to their development mainly in cultural terms.

5. • The voluntary sector or community sector (also non-profit
sector or "not-for-profit" sector) is the sphere of social activity
undertaken by organizations that are not for profit and non-
governmental. This sector is also called the third sector, in
reference to the public sector and the private sector. Civic sector
is another term for the sector, emphasizing the sector's
relationship to civil society.
• Social Enterprises, within the social sector or social economy ,
are often undertakings & ventures (sometimes with the help of
sponsors) for employing social workers and making organisation
and offered services more efficient.

6. Nonprofits, NGOs & Charity Foundations
A nonprofit organization (US and UK) or not-for-profit organization (UK and
others), often called an NPO or simply a nonprofit. Also, non-commercial
organization (Russia and CIS), often called an NCO, is an organization that uses
economic to achieve its goals rather than distributing them as profit or dividends.
Non-governmental organization (NGO) are legally constituted organizations created
by natural or legal people that operate independently from any form of government. In
the cases in which NGOs are funded totally or partially by governments, the NGO
maintains its non-governmental status by excluding government representatives from
membership in the organization. NGOs are difficult to define and classify, and the
term 'NGO' is not used consistently. As a result, there are many different
classifications in use.
A foundation (also a charitable foundation) is a legal categorization of nonprofit
organizations that will typically either donate funds and support to other organizations,
or provide the source of funding for its own charitable purposes.

strengths and find ways to express themselves.
• We believe that learning about fine arts and being creative helps children to
build a positive future for themselves. We give grants to financially
disadvantaged or talented children.
• We operate mobile art studios for children, we run art projects in schools, we
sponsor schools for children with special needs and we transfer our knowledge
to partners in other cities and other countries. We operate our 6 affiliates within
Germany, under a concept of social franchising. We build further our network in
Asia.
• We expand our operations to the area of parenting and social assistance for
families (HZE) with 2 offices in Germany and 2 educational facilities within

• Volunteers have contributed over 50,000 hours of voluntary & charity work
