10. Approach to Judicial education
• Judicial ownership
– The Chief Justice and judges of the Peshawar High
Court own and lead the Academy’s judicial
education plan
• Judge-led training and faculty development
– Faculty is judge-led composed of professional
educators and judges (core); support by ToT
• Court- and judge-specific courses
– Trainings target the distinctive needs of courts, enhance
competence, professional development and ethical
standards; and address public expectations

13. Objectives of Training
• To deepen the trainees knowledge of jurisprudence and universal
principles of justice
• To help the trainees develop judicial temperament reflecting
judicial ethical values
• To enable the trainees understand substantive and procedural
laws properly
• To inculcate in the trainees judicial decision making and opinion
writing skills
• To impart to the trainees skills for efficient and effective
communication
• To enable the trainees learn and keep high moral standards by
observing of moral virtues, professional ethics, team building and
avoiding all sins and vices
• To develop in the trainees the concepts of “Fear of Allah (SWT)”
and “Ultimate Accountability of judges/Qazis on the Day of
Judgement”
14. Infrastructure
• New site
– Proposed in Regi Model Town
– Initially 150 Kanal offered, later cut to 95 Kanal
– Payment outstanding: Rs. 237.5 million
• Present premises
– Not meant for Academy
– Not fit for long duration training
– Lacking in proper lecture theatre, library, IT room, etc
– Lacking in recreation and sports facilities

– Waiting for positive response from provincial govt.
15. Distinctions

– Fresh TNA being planned for Judicial Officers, court staff and public expectations from
judiciary
– Evaluation model 2016 in place (Kirkpatrick model)

– Young lawyers training from KP as well as Balochistan
