KiiCS (Knowledge incubation in innovation and Creation for Science) és un projecte europeu del 7è Programa Marc, de tres anys de durada (2012-2014). El 21 de gener es va constituir el Consorci Local de Barcelona del projecte europeu KiiCS, acrònim en anglès d'Incubació del Coneixement en la Innovació i la Creació per la Ciència. Les entitats que conformen el consorci local són el Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), l’Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), la Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI), l’Institut Municipal d'Educació de Barcelona (IMEB), Barcelona Activa, el Centre Arts Santa Mònica i el Consell Nacional de la Cultura i les Arts (CONCA).

(neuro) MUSIC HACK DAY
n-MHD is an incubator of neuroscience and music that is part of the
Barcelona Music Hack Day (MHD), organised by the Music Technology
Group of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Objective: to generate technology products and applications.
The Science Communication Observatory, from Universitat Pompeu Fabra,
contributes to the “neuro” focus, as well as the research group in
Synthetic Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems, also from UPF, and
the company STARLAB among others.

13. Art & Science Incubation (II)
NEUROSOUND
Spring 2013
• Musical Grant linked to Technology and Neuroscience for Young Creators.
• Objective: to promote experimental musical production (electronic music, mixed,
electronics, etc.) with the help of computerized sound generation and the
incorporation of neurologic elements and sensory perception data.
• The project will be carried out through collaboration between Music Technology Group
(MTG) of Universitat Pompeu Fabra with the Science Communication Observatory from
the same university, along with Phonos Foundation.

14. Youth corner
PRIMAVERA SCIENCE SOUNDS:
Workshops “Sounds, science and technology”.
Spring 2013
Objective: to promote creativity and entrepreneurial talent in young adults in
the intersection of science and arts (14-17 years)
10 workshops organised by the Music Technology Group (Universitat Pompeu
Fabra) with the collaboration of Science Communication Observatory and
the Institut Municipal d’Educació de Barcelona.
This activity is funded by Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología

15. Through exercises and creative strategies, participants (over 300
high school students) will generate sound fictions, use
cutting-edge music and sound technology and learn how the
brain perceives reality through sound.
