Khalid bin Walid was a renowned early Muslim military leader known as "The Sword of Allah." He was born in Mecca in 585 AD and showed prowess as a warrior from a young age. As a skilled horseman and weapon-user, he led cavalry forces. Though initially fighting against Muslims, he converted to Islam in 629. Known for his leadership skills and bravery in over 100 battles, including the conquest of Persia and Syria, he remained undefeated until being dismissed by Caliph Umar in 642. He died later that year in Homs, longing to be martyred in battle, and is buried in a mosque that now bears his name.
