The overall property and estate management of the Groups large and diverse property portfolio consisting of 87
properties across 32 countries in Asia, EMEA, Australia, North and South America with a combined floor space of
c240,000 square feet and Annual running expenditure budgets in excess of £11,000,000 less project costs, spanning
strategy, negotiation, project delivery, supplier selection, team and budget management, health, safety & environmental
approaches, achieving optimal efficiency, excellent service, quality, professionalism and financial performance.
 Executed all aspects of the Groups properties worldwide, including developing and agreeing property strategy,
negotiating terms and managing projects. Advised the Group Plc. Board and business unit Executive Committees
on all key property-related decisions. Evaluated and developed alternative courses of action with input and
agreement from senior business leaders.
 Successfully negotiated with landlords regarding leases at inception or renewal and the management of on-going
relationship with landlords and managing agents throughout the lease. Managed and negotiated contracts with
service providers and suppliers of utilities, catering, cleaning, maintenance companies, couriers etc.
 Spearheaded all property-related relocation, fit-out, refurbishment and maintenance projects, ensuring delivery to
the required time, budget and quality and with the necessary permissions – including the direct management of

 Expertly planned and implemented security arrangements for staff and assets across all worldwide premises, and

Key Results:
 Established an effective Global Property Services team from inception inclusive of the recruitment and
continuation training of three middle managers along with the building of a global hub premises management
network. Implemented Global Group Health & Safety and Environmental management systems projects.
 Played a significant role as Client side project manager on a Central London property procurement and
construction project with a project end cost of £25,500,000. Actively persuaded Charles Taylors’ main client to

on a 15 year lease.
 Adeptly planned and implemented a Group Shared Services Department along with the Group COO, ICT, HR,

 Year on Year premises related budget savings of between £250,000 and £1,000,000 acting as a ‘quasi profit
centre’. Managed numerous merger and acquisition property assets and liabilities.
THE RENT SERVICE Apr 2004 – Jul 2004
Estates Manager
 Performed the property and asset management of a national property portfolio consisting of 43 operational
buildings across England for the Rent Service - a Civil Service executive arm of the Department of Work and
Pensions primarily dealing with fair rents legislation and Housing Benefit.
 Directed outsourced FM provider for the entire estate and the consolidation of all previous maintenance and FM
contracts to be managed by this service provider; property acquisitions and disposals; rent reviews, ass ignments,
property leases and licenses; service charge and National Non Domestic Rating issues; project works ranging
from internal department and entire building (business unit) moves to the installation of Security and fire systems
and the locating and setting up of Business continuity (Disaster recovery) sites inclusive of critical IT systems
maintenance and security management.
WESTWAY DEVELOPMENT TRUST Sep 2003 – Apr 2004
Facilities and Property Manager
 Adeptly managed asset and property of a unique and diverse estate spanning 23 acres stretching a mile
underneath and adjacent to the A40 in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, west London. The portfolio
included two busy multipurpose sports facilities 120 commercial and charitable properties, ranging from office
space to retail and light industrial units and approximately 10 acres of public grounds and gardens.
 Actively engaged in the management of planned, reactive and cyclic maintenance of the estate; management of
the estate maintenance department and external contractors; management of project works; management of
health, safety, fire and security on the estate; tenant dilapidations and the setting and monitoring of all relevant
budgets and tenant service charges.
CRAWLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL Sep 2001 – Sep 2002
Maintenance Operations Manager
 Supervised the strategic and operational management of building fabric and building services; maintenance of the
borough Councils social housing stock consisting of some 12000 mixed residential units, 5200 garages and 19
hostels. Directly managed upwards of 55 staff with five directly reporting divisional managers and budgets in
excess of £14m per annum.
 Controlled the direct services organisation, repairs help desk, technical administration department, technical
forward planning department, planned maintenance surveyors division – including disabled adaptations,
responsive maintenance surveyors division, mechanical and electrical maintenance surveyors division and an
asbestos management project encompassing the entire housing stock. This also included external contractor
contract management of numerous planned maintenance minor buildings works contracts and eleven measured
term maintenance contracts consisting of minor building works, heating, electrical, drainage and lift contracts
NORLAND MANAGED SERVICES LTD April 2000 – Mar 2001
Service Manager
 Administered service control and labour resource for a building services maintenance management company
dealing with HVAC, M and E engineering, project works, energy management and building fabric maintenance.
Key roles included; Service Engineer controller for approx. 105 engineers for multi-site contracts with regard to
PPM, reactive and minor project works; service desk manager for a 24 hour desk with nine operators; engineer
labour resource manager for all resident sites dealing with labour shortage problems and additional works;
Operational out of hours duty engineer callout manager.
CHELSEA BARRACKS
Facilities Manager Nov 1996 - April 2000
 Personally responsible for the Operational Facilities and Property Management of a 13 acre site, consisting of
31 workplace and accommodation buildings, comprising 310,000 ft2 of structural estate in Central London,
including the management of contracted and outsourced support services encompassing building services and
fabric maintenance, security, catering, cleaning and mailroom.
 Instrumental within the initial team preparing the site for PPP and then PFI bids which resulted in the sale of the
site to Quatari Diar and the CPC Group for £959 million. Key additional roles included; Security and IT Security
manager; Environmental, Health and Safety manager, encompassing Radiation and Laser Safety manager;
Fire Safety manager; Energy Efficiency manager.
