Emerging technologies like IPv6 are impacting businesses. IPv6 is the long-term solution as we run out of IPv4 addresses, but transitioning everything over like operating systems, applications, and content delivery is complex. While top websites support IPv6, many smaller sites are slower to transition. On World IPv6 Day, support doubled among top sites but fell right afterwards as it was seen as a test by many. Permanent IPv6 deployment by more sites will hopefully follow soon.
