The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) is Pakistan's largest stock exchange, established in 1947. It was incorporated in 1949 with 5 founding companies and capital of 37 million PKR. Several indexes have been introduced over time to track market performance, including the KSE-100 index. The KSE provides a marketplace for investors to buy and sell shares of 654 listed companies and has a current market capitalization of US $70.18 billion.

 And was incorporated in March 10, 1949

 With paid up capital of PKR 37 million
 The first index was the KSE 50 index
 On November 1, 1991 the KSE index 100 was
introduced
 Computerized trading system, called Karachi Automated
trading system (KAT) was introduced in 2002
 August 29,1995 the all shared index was introduced
 To address the needs of investors two more indexes are
introduced

T+3 settlement system:
 In T+3 settlement system the purchase and sale of security
is netted and the balance is settled on third day following
the day of trade

Trading System (BATS) - a fair, efficient and
transparent trading system for debt market
securities.
 The introduction of the debt market is key
to the development of the money market
and the economy. Corporate and retail
investors will be able to trade corporate
and commercial paper as BATS will open
up a new pool of liquidity through efficient
price discovery.
