Kangaroo Report
The kangaroo is an herbivore which means that they only eat
plants. The types of food that the kangaroo will eat are grass,
shrubs, leaves, stems and they will also eat shoots to. Kangaroos
are mostly nocturnal that means that they are more active at
night and they will sleep during the day. That means that they are
nighttime feeders. When they are in the wild then they will
usually graze on grasses. They will also spend their time eating
during dawn (day) and sometimes at dusk (night or evening).
When a day is cloudy and it is cold enough. Then these animals
will start to eat during the day time. There are some species of
kangaroo that can go for a week or even months without drinking
any water because they usually get their water from the plants
that they eat. Kangaroos are grazing animals. These animals do
not hunt for their food. They are usually hunted by other animals
that is in the area. The food that the kangaroos will mostly eat is
grass. The other food that they will mostly eat is leaves that are
on shrubs. They can go for a very long time without water. The
tree kangaroos will eat leaves and fruit. Kangaroos can shallow
their food with out even chewing it and then later the kangaroo
will regurgitate a cud and then they will start to chew it.
Kangaroos only need a little bit of water. These animals can go for
months with no water in them. These animals can also have the
ability to dig up their own water wells. Kangaroos are really big
herbivores. They will feed on grass and on roots. These animals
will also eat chew cud. The head of the kangaroo kind a looks like
the head of a llama. All the species of kangaroo are all nocturnal
and crepuscular, they will usually spent their days idling quietly
that happens in the cold evening, nights and also in the morning

to. They will move and eat at the same time. Kangaroos only live
on the continent of Australia. They can also live on New Guinea.
The habitats that they live on are wet forests that can be located
on New Guinea. These animals can also be seen on open forests.
These animals mostly live in East Australia and on Tasmania. They
can also be found on the Indonesian islands that are on New
Guinea. These animals can also be found on surrounded islands.
The Kangaroo lives in so many different types of habitats like they
can live in forests woodland areas, grassy plains and on the
savannas. In century’s ago kangaroos used to live in New Zealand.
The Eastern grey kangaroo lives in Tasmania. The big-footed
bouncing kangaroo can live in some parts of Australia like in the
islands of Tasmania. These animals can also be found in New
Guinea. They can also be seen on the neighboring island that is on
the north of Australia. Over the years people have brought these
animals outside of their natural homelands. Like for right now
they are living in New Zealand, Great Britain, and they can also be
found on Hawaii. The red kangaroo lives in the scrub and they can
also be found on the open grasslands this also includes arid and
on semiarid areas. These animals will also live in Central Australia.
They can also live in north eastern and on the Southeast coasts
and on Southwest of Australia they can also live on Tasmania. The
kangaroos that are the most common is the red eastern kangaroo
and the western kangaroo. These kangaroos are the biggest
kangaroos in the world. The males can weigh about 200 pounds
(91 kilograms). The females can weigh a half then the males. The
smallest species of the kangaroo and it can weigh about 1 pound
(454 grams) and this kangaroo is the only one in the species that
does not have the ability to hop like the other kangaroos that are
in the family. The red and the grey kangaroo can stand about five
to six feet tall. Most kangaroos can weigh about 50 to 120
pounds. There are some kangaroos that can weigh about 200
pounds. The size of the kangaroos body is 3 ¼ -5 ¼ ft (1-1.6 m).

kangaroo can grow about 29.5-63 in (75-160 m). Their tail length
is 25-47 in (64-120 cm) their height when they are upright then

grey kangaroo can live about 18 years. When these animals are in

The other kangaroo species is the Eastern grey kangaroo they are
known to be the heaviest of all the kangaroo species but they are
not as tall as the red kangaroo. The last species of the kangaroo is
the western grey kangaroo. These kangaroos can be found in big
numbers and they can be seen in lots of different colors like they
can come in grey and brown. There are only four true species of

the kangaroo and those kangaroos are red eastern kangaroo, the
gray kangaroo, the western gray kangaroo and the antilopine
kangaroo. There are 50 other close relate species like the
wallabies, the tree kangaroo and the pademelons. The red
kangaroo can be a really fast hopper these kangaroos can hop
about 3m (10ft) that is when they are hopping in the air and when
they need to hop forward then they will hop at least about 10m
(35ft). The kangaroo has a muscular design that can help them to
move in any way that can be unique to macros that is called
salutation this means that these animals can hop on both of their
feet so that they can push themselves off of the ground they can

can work together that can help the kangaroo to move efficiently.
The red kangaroo can speed up about 40kph (25 mph). Kangaroos
have a very special way for breathing that helps them to save lots
of their energy when they are hopping. When a dingo runs then
they can use their energy to move their chest muscles and that
can help them when they are breathing. The kangaroo’s body
works really different then any other mammal because when their

rate. Scientists have studied the red kangaroo by clocking the
racing of the kangaroo of the rate of 31 miles (50 kilometers) per
hour. At their very top speed the kangaroo can reach down to
once every 23 feet (7 meters). The hopping skills are very helpful
for escaping a predator. The kangaroo can hop really high when it
is going up and down. The kangaroo would rather spring forward

like bushes or a fence. It is way easier for a kangaroo to hop up

When the kangaroo feels that danger is near then the kangaroo
will alert the members that are in the mop by thumping their feet
very loud on the floor. These animals can communicate with each

animals can also travel together to. In a kangaroo mob a group of
kangaroos can hold about ten or even more males and females
that can be found in a kangaroo group. The dominant male is
called the boomer they are called this because of their size or age.
The boomers job is to be in chance of all the mating that goes on
in the mop. Sometimes the boomer will sometimes find himself
wander in or out of the mop so that he can check on the females
and the intimidating the other males who want to mate with the
females that are in the mop. The female kangaroo has been called
lots of different names and those names are doe, flyer, Jill or even
a roo. The male kangaroo has also been called lots of different
names to and those names are bucks, boomer, jack or old man.
The males will start to grow bigger and stronger through their
whole lives. The collective noun for the kangaroo is the mop,
troop or the court. The largest species of kangaroo are really
social animals. These animals can graze together and they can
also travel together to. The group of a kangaroo can hold about 2
to 50 members that can be put in a kangaroo group. The tree
kangaroo and lots of wallabies and wallaroos they rather live by
themselves that means that they are solitary animals that means
that they do not live in a group or in a family. The fastest of all the
kangaroos is the female red kangaroo they can reach the speeds
of 35 mph of short bursts of up about 45 mph. when a male
kangaroo battles with another male then they will start to lock
forearms or jab at each other and then they will try to push the

other one off balance that was the last resort. They will also use
their powerful hind legs to battle each other to. But that means
they will have to be extra careful so that they do not slash each
other with their very sharp claws unless they really do mean
business. Kangaroos have very big feet that is the reason why they
can not walk normally. When the kangaroo really needs to walk
really slow then they will use their tail to make a tripod with it’s
tail to make a tripod with it’s two forelimbs so that they can raise
to their hind feet forward in a form of location that is called
“crawl-walking,” kangaroos have been known for jumping a

on earth because they can give birth in a pouch which can be

young. The kangaroo’s natural predators are now extinct and
those animals are the thylacine and the marsupial lion. Today the
kangaroo’s only predator is a really wild dog that is called the
dingo. The dingo started to become the kangaroo’s predator in
Australia in 5,000 years ago. Dingoes are one of the predators that
the kangaroo has to worry about. Just like the dingo and the other
canids that is in the species of these animals that also includes the
fox and the feral cat and these animals have pose a threat to the
kangaroo population just like they do with the other animals that
is in this continent. The kangaroos and the wallabies are really
good swimmers and they can also flee in waterways it depends of
the present is with the option that is being pursed into water. The
bigger species will use their forepaws to hold down the predator
under the water so that they can drown it. The other good
defensive that the kangaroo can do is catching the attacking dog
with their forepaws and with their disemboweling they can do
these skills by using their hind legs. There are some species of

kangaroo that really enjoy grooming each other. Social grooming
is not really common with the bigger species of kangaroo. There
are some kangaroo mothers that can groom their babies. All of
the females that are in the mop always groom each other.
Grooming helps a lot in a kangaroo mop because it helps keep
their family strong and healthy and it can also help them to stay
clean. The female kangaroo which is called a doe and their relates
will usually give birth to a really tiny newborn kangaroo. They will
make a really great journey across their mother’s stomach so that
the younger can safely reach the mothers pouch. The females will
be ready to mate when they are 18 months and when they are 3
years old. The males will be ready to mate when they are about
the same age as the females and that is 3 years old. When the
males want to mate with a female then they will start to fight
other males that will also want to mate with the females. This
starts to happen during the breeding season. The pouch can be no
bigger then a bumblebee. The babies are blind so it is really hard
for them to get out of their mother’s pouch. So they will have to
use their forelimbs so that they can get out of the pouch. The
baby kangaroos can have the same size as a snake-like motion
that can be over then six inches that is from their birth canal to
their pouch. When they are inside of the mother’s pouch. A male
will also fight for them for a chance to mate with the females. The
males will fight with each other by kicking and boxing with the
other males. The male will make a snort so that he can warn the
other male to stay away. If one of the males wins then he will
have a chance to court with the females and they will do this for
one or two hours before he can activity mate with her. When the
babies are inside of the mothers pouch then it will start to
immediately wrap their mouths around one of their mother’s four
nipples. Then the joey does not let go until it is three mouths old.
A baby kangaroo is called a joey. The very small joey will not be
able to leave its mothers pouch for good until it is about eight or

ten months old, but it will still poke its head out of the pouch
from time to time when it wants to drink milk from it’s mother.
The females pouch is located on her belly that is made by skin so
that they can cradle the baby joey. A baby joey can grow about
one inch long (2.5 centimeters) at birth that is like the same size
as a grape. After the joeys’ are born then the joey will start to
travel unassisted that can go through their mother’s thick fur so
that they can be comfort and so that they can be safe in the
pouch. A newborn joey can not swallow or suckle they do not
even need to know these skills because their mother can use her
own muscles to pump the milk down its throat. When they are
about 4 months old then the joeys emerges from the pouch for
very short trips and so that they can graze on the grass and on
really small shrubs. When it is 10 months old then that is the time
that they can be mature enough to take care of themselves. The
females will usually give birth to only one joey at a time. The
newborns can weigh about 0.03 ounce when they are born that is
like the same size as a lima bean. After they are born then the
joeys’ will start to learn how to crawl into its mother’s pouch. This
is the time when they are nursing. This is the time when they are
nursing from their mother and then they will continue to grow
and develop. The red kangaroo joeys’ will not be ready to leave
the pouch until they are more then eight months old. The gray
kangaroo babies will be ready when they are almost a year old. A
mother kangaroo can give birth to only one baby there are some
species that can have four babies it really depends on the species.
The size of a joey is 0.2 to 0.9 inches (5 to 25 millimeters) that is
like the same size as a grain of rice or a size of a honeybee. The
babies will reach maturity when they are 2 to 4 years that is for
the males. For the females it will be about 14 to 20 months.
There are so many different types of kangaroos there are about
20 of them that is in the smaller species that are now being
threatened. They are getting hurt because they are being driven

away from their feeding grounds that are being taken over by
domestic animals and by mining, agriculture, and limber interests.
There are some species that are being preyed on by introduced
animals like the red fox and the common house cat. The bigger
species of kangaroo are having a much bigger problem because
they are reproducing so rapidly that their population surveys that
are being taken away from the kangaroos. The kangaroos are also
being culled. All of these species are being studied by scientists
they are also looking for ways of introducing that means they are
putting the kangaroos under birth control that is being put into
salt licks. The kangaroos are also being hunted for meat and for
hides. The introduction that means domestic herbivores these
animals are the sheep, cattle and rabbits they are increasing the
computation for a lot of plants that may cause food scarcity in
times of drought. The total of the kangaroo population depends
on the rainfall. When the rainfall is really high then their
population can be up about 12 million. When the rainfall is low
then their population will drop to 5 million. Females are not able
to conceive during the drought and the males may stop producing
a sperm. Even through the kangaroos are really not commercially
farmed. The ones that live in the wild are often being hunted by
human hunters. People hunt the kangaroo for sport, meat and for
their fur. When the farmers are conserving the graze lands for
their sheep and for their cow. Australians are working very hard
to help save the kangaroo and also to find the proper balance that
is between the kangaroo species and people. Together we can
save the kangaroo from disappearing forever. That is what I know
about the kangaroo.
