Kangaroos live in family groups called mobs and are commonly found in bush land, woodland, open forests and grasslands in Australia. They can reach up to 5 feet in length and 200 pounds in weight, and travel at speeds of around 40 mph. Kangaroos eat grasses, shrubs and leaves and play an important ecological role, though they are also hunted by dingoes. Their populations in Australia number in the millions and do not interfere with livestock.
