1. BUDAYA SEKOLAH
• Menurut Hoy dan Miskel (2005) dalam bukunya “Educational
Administration: Theory, research and practice”, budaya
sekolah adalah merujuk kepada norma-norma perlakuan
(norms), nilai-nilai (values) dan kepercayaan (beliefs) yang
dikongsi bersama di dalam organisasi sekolah.
• Contoh norma-norma perlakuan (norms) adalah:
1. Support your colleagues
2. Don’t criticize the principal
3. Handle your own discipline problems
4. Be available to give students extra help
5. Get to know your colleagues
2. BUDAYA SEKOLAH (Sambungan)
Contoh Nilai-nilai (Values) adalah:
1. Openness
2. Trust
3. Cooperation
4. Intimacy
5. Teamwork
6. Control
3. IKLIM SEKOLAH
• Iklim sekolah adalah merujuk kepada persepsi manusia di
dalam organisasi sekolah yang mencerminkan norma-norma
perlakuan, nilai dan kepercayaan di dalam organisasi itu.
• “Sekolah yang berjaya/mencapai kecemerlangan biasanya
mempunyai budaya rasa megah dan iklim kejayaan. Budaya
rasa megah bererti terdapat komitmen nilai dan emosi di
antara seseorang dengan sekolah; guru-guru dan staf
berperasaan bahawa mereka adalah sebahagian daripada
entiti yang amat bermakna dan mereka boleh merealisasikan
nilai yang amat dihargai melalui sumbangan mereka sendiri”.
