Some examples of juxtaposed elements include light and dark, tall and short, old and new, brick and glass, sweet and sour, round and square, black and white, and smooth and textured. Juxtaposition can be used in photography to contrast different subjects, colors, textures, or ideas in a single image.

1. The picture shows a motorbike and a child’s trike.
2. The point of view of the photo is to show a contrast between a large bike and a small
trike. It also conveys a juxtaposition of adult/ child and difference in colour. When we
think of a motorbike we imagine a fast, loud machine ridden by a young man whereas
the trike is a gentle, quiet image that we associate with a young child.
