JUXTAPOSITION PHOTOGRAPHY
Meaning of Juxtaposition:
Juxtaposition is were two different factors / focal
points in the picture appear to contradict each other or
simply just be opposite to each other, for example this
image to the left conveys many diversities between
the two focal points (the two buildings) firstly you
could immediately notice the difference in age of the
buildings and also height meaning this is a great
example of juxtaposition in photography.
Elements in juxtaposed image:
Common elements used in a typical juxtaposed image
include – Age, Colour, Size, Location etc.
This creates an effect / feeling of curiosity as you try
to understand the differences between the two focal
points.
What is the content of the
Picture?
In the picture we can clearly see
an ancient if not old Chinese
building which is juxtaposed in
front of a polluting industrial
estate.
What point-of-view or message is conveyed by the photo?
this could be portraying the difference between modern times and the past as it could suggest
that we live in a polluted world compared to a natural more Colourful past.

How do your images demonstrate Juxtaposition?
My images demonstrate Juxtaposition in different forms of opposites for example different forms
of light in the top middle image (Artificial and natural light) and another form would be the bottom
left image which would be in the form of life and death (Healthy leaf and a dead leaf) etc.
