Justification involves a change in one's standing with God through faith in Christ. It consists of the forgiveness of sins and the removal of guilt, as well as the imputation of Christ's righteousness to the believer. We are justified not by works but by faith alone, through believing and obeying the gospel. True faith is evidenced by repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name, baptism in the Holy Spirit, and a holy life. Salvation encompasses the entire experience with God from hearing the gospel to the rapture.
