The overall objective of the Programme is to
                  contribute to the strengthening of rule of law                                                                                                                                                            unite for children
                  in Kosovo through a better functioning and
                  reformed Juvenile Justice System. This will be
                  achieved by ensuring juveniles and children
                  in conflict with the law, as well as victims and
                  witnesses where appropriate, are treated by
                  the juvenile justice system in line with Kosovo,
                  international and European standards

Result Area 1: All juvenile justice professionals in Kosovo, such
as police, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, social workers (including
Guardianship Authority) & probations will have improved capacity to
ensure the rights of children in contact with the justice system are
protected, especially during the arrest and prosecution phases. This
will include:
 •	 strengthening	the	capacity	of	the	Kosovo	Chamber	of	Advocates	to	legally	
    represent	child	victims	and	offenders	
 •	 developing	a	training	curriculum	for	the	Police.	The	Programme		will	also	
    support	the	Police	in	establishing	separate	interview	rooms	for	children		
    appropriate	children	,	girls	and	boys	-	from	different	communities		
 •	 developing	specific	and	joint	protocols	for	relevant	juvenile	justice	profes-
    sionals	during	the	arrest	and	prosecution	procedures

Result Area 2: All juvenile justice professionals have increased

Justice for children

  • 1. The overall objective of the Programme is to contribute to the strengthening of rule of law unite for children in Kosovo through a better functioning and reformed Juvenile Justice System. Result Area 1: All juvenile justice professionals in Kosovo, such as police, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, social workers (including Guardianship Authority) & probations will have improved capacity to ensure the rights of children in contact with the justice system are protected, especially during the arrest and prosecution phases. This will include: • strengthening the capacity of the Kosovo Chamber of Advocates to legally represent child victims and offenders • developing a training curriculum for the Police.
