Challenges and Solutions
Challenge: What exactly is Just MoveTM?
Feedback: Just MoveTM is a classroom-based activity program that utilizes a set of activity
cards that have been mapped to the common core. That’s it! 
Challenge: What does the grant cover?
Feedback: We suggested that schools use the grant money to print sets of cards for all
teachers, to purchase class incentive prizes, and to host a Just MoveTM kickoff celebration.
Going forward, the only cost will be printing cards for new teachers.
Challenge: Another program?! How will we fit this into our schedule?
Feedback: Most schools implemented the program with ease. Schools used a variety of
methods to train teachers: live training, video group training, and emailing program information
to teachers. Schools also integrated Just MoveTM into orientation celebrations and other
school-wide events. Some schools had trouble implementing this year, but it’s never too late to
start! We suggest setting up an implementation plan now so you are prepared to start the
program in the fall.

10 Steps to
a Healthy
School
Community
Step 1: Continue Just Move
TM
in the classroom
• Print card sets for new teachers and
train new teachers
• Integrate Just Move
TM
training and
refreshers during teacher orientation/
planning period before school begins
• Continue to hold class competitions
to provide incentives for teachers to
use the classroom based activity
cards

sustain interest and build community

wellness activities in the school community
• Teachers, staff, parents, students, and administrators are all
invited to join the wellness council
• The SWC is a great way to ensure the sustainability of the

at a time i.e. Try monthly themes

stairs!), New Foods November
(taste something new this month!)
• Write op-eds (local papers,
school or PTA newspaper); get
students involved
• Share stories and photos on
social media (facebook, twitter,

newsletters for parents and staff
