7. Vicente Suárez (Age 14)Their leaders in battle (Nicolás Bravo and José Mariano Monterde) told them to stay back and protect themselves but they didn´t. They resisted until killed and one of them wrapped himself around Mexico´s flag and jumped off a balcony so the enemy would not take the flag. We celebrate every year the Día de los Niños Héroes to remember their commitment and bravery.
8. September 16 In the year 1810 EL Grito de Dolores was celebrated. This was a cry that had the purpose impulse Mexicans to fight for their rights against the Spanish colonial government. It happened in a church were Miguel Hidalgo said these words: My Children:a new dispensation comes to us today. Will you receive it? Will you free yourselves? Will you recover the lands stolen three hundred years ago from your forefathers by the hated Spaniards? We must act at once… Will not you defend your religion and your rights as true patriots? Long live our Lady of Guadalupe! Death to bad government! Death to the gachupines! Now each year all over Mexico each 15 of September the President goes out to the Zocalo, where he represents the cry Miguel Hidalgo once made.
9. November 20 The Revolución Mexicana was a fight that was led by Francisco I. Madero, against Porfirio Díaz. This was because he had governed more then 30 years. Then because it had too much struggles the Mexican Constitution was created in 1917. Each year Mexicans celebrate this day commemoration the heroes that wanted a change in the country.
