This document provides instructions for a student to complete five journal entries on topics from ancient Roman history for a social studies class. The student is instructed to write a full page for each entry using their imagination and research, and entries are due on September 10th. Topics include: 1) Hannibal crossing the Alps from the perspective of a soldier, 2) the Gracchus brothers' reforms from the perspective of an Ecuadorean, 3) Julius Caesar from the perspective of a Roman legionnaire, 4) attending a show at the Circus Maximus to gladiators, and 5) first impressions of a barbarian seen on the Forum.
