Lead Mail Processing Technician / Administrative Assistant – Office of the Circuit Executive of the US

Manages and oversees the day to day operations of the mailroom which serves all tenants in the courthouse
complex.
Monitors, coordinates, and reacts to day to day facilities management issues in the mailroom.
Train mailroom technicians and perform quality control for all work done in the mail room.
Develops and practices emergency preparedness exercises within the mailroom.
Prepares and updates documentation,guidelines and protocols for all procedures used by the mailroom staff.
Works closely with the U.S. Marshals Service and court security officers in identifying and securing suspicious and
potentially threatening correspondence addressed to judicial officers and court staff.
Works at the direction of and in conjunction with the Assistant Circuit Executive for Space and Facilities, assists in
the management of space and facilities projects including, but not limited to new construction,repair and alteration,
building cyclical maintenance, and renovation.
Monitors project work. Assesses,documents,prioritizes and responds to project problems . Attends and participates
in project or construction meetings as a representative of the courts.
Processes the mail following the protocols established by each court unit. Process checks, money orders, and cash
following the protocols established by each unit.
Inspects the mail for any characteristics that might suggest the letteror package is suspicious and should be checked
again by the Marshals Service.
Maintains multiple mail logs for each court unit.
Delivers the mail and packages to a designated location identified by each court unit. Accepts deliveries from
couriers and delivery companies (i.e., FedEx UPS, DHL, ctc.) and follows the protocols established by each court
unit for processing these deliveries.
