Leadership
2008 Founded and faculty advise Sociology Club at FSU Hagerstown.
Became web manager for FSU Programs at USMH website.
Established regular advising workshops at Hagerstown Community College.
Established regular advising appointments at Frederick Community College.
Established new student orientation sessions at FSU@USMH.
Established monthly news letter for students and faculty in CLAS at FSU@USMH.
3. 2009 Worked with others on the team to bring the Psychology undergraduate degree to
FSU@USMH by preparing documents/statistics for MHEC approval.
Worked with Director of Admissions to prepare new reporting tool to allow program
coordinators to track new transfer students to FSU@USMH.
Advised and consulted with Dr. Warner, Director of USMH, on the formation of a new
student Government Association.
2010 Mentored the new Psychology program coordinator at FSU@USMH.
Proposed and implemented library innovations to increase student research and writing
skills.
Established the Journal of Undergraduate Research, The Activist, at FSU@USMH.
Published first volume. To be published yearly by and for students of both FSU locations.
Introduced “clicker” technology into FSU classes at USMH.
Established “team advising sessions” across college’s in the evenings to accommodate
working students.
Authored articulation agreement documents for Sociology and Liberal Studies programs
for Hagerstown Com. College and Frederick Com. College ensuring a seamless transfer
into our programs by interested transfer students.
2011 Established a new outreach program for veterans at the center in Martinsburg, W. V . on
behalf of FSU.
Established a new Liberal Studies Club at FSU@USMH.
Co-authored with colleagues, a new strategic plan for FSU@USMH.
Began advising a local non-profit organization, Children in Need, in Hagerstown.
Founder was a former student of mine and graduate of FSU@USMH.
2012 Established a new advising/consultation group for recently graduated students who
have gone on to graduate work. Setup meets and greets, socializing opportunities and
advice sessions offering them a sense of community many graduate programs do not
offer to commuting graduate students.
