executive for Microsoft. His positions included
Director of Marketing for the Asia-Pacific
region and Director of Business Development
for Greater China

At age 35, John Wood did not just quit his
position as Microsoft's Director of Business
Development, he also did not look back on what
he could have become. He was a significant part
of Microsoft's international business and a
Director of Marketing for the Asia-Pacific
Division, Director of the Internet Customer Unit
for Microsoft Australia, and Director of
Marketing for Microsoft Australia.
4. History of John Wood
• John Wood was born in January 1964, in
Hartford, Connecticut, where he spent his
early childhood. His family later settled in
Athens, Pennsylvania, where he attended high
school. He holds a bachelor's degree from
the University of Colorado, and a master's
degree in business administration from
the Kellogg Graduate School of
Management at Northwestern University.
5. Impact of John Wood
John has established over 12,500 libraries,
donated and published 10 million books, built
over 1,500 schools, and supported more than
13,500 girls so they can graduate from
secondary school with the skills they need to
succeed. In total, Room to Read has impacted
the lives 6 million children.
