• After seeing how other children at developing countries after being
deprived of their education he left his high paying job at Microsoft to
pursue his goal of helping children around the world as he really cares
about them.this shows how good his character really is as he is thoughtful
and does not have any selfish desires he also does not take into
consideration of hoe he would suffer as long as hr can help the children
ehich are in need of his help
• There was once in *1998* he went to the Himalayas on a vacation.he
visited a primary school which had alot of student but not many books. The
school headmaster then suggested john wood to come back someday with
more books which inspired john wood. He came back 1 year later with
3000 books which are donated by his friends and family

venture Mr wood co founded room to read in 2001 with dinesh
shrestha and Erin ganju they aim to increase literacy and gender
equality in education in developing countrie
• The organisation celebrated their 10 year anniversary in 2010 by
opening it's staggering 10000 library and the construction of its 1000
school
• In 2016 the organisation has opened over 2400 school infrastructural
project 18000 libraries with millions of books

multiple countries cambodia nepal and south Africa to name a few
and each of these countries has seen a rise in the number of people
considered literate and this organisation really helped in this change

countries they are stationed in which help them gain knowledge and
progress in the world and society
