John Vining was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is currently a member of the University of South Dakota golf team and is involved in several Christian organizations on campus including Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Crusade for Christ. John went on a mission trip to Ethiopia in 2010 that changed his outlook and goals - he now wants to work with non-profits helping HIV/AIDS orphans. His professional goals are to become a physical education teacher and golf or basketball coach in Sioux Falls while continuing involvement with Christian athletics organizations.

In 10 years, I hope to have a family and teach at a small South Dakota high school while coaching teams.

This presentation will explore the benefits of getting active through first person experience, as well as discuss the very real challenges/barriers to participation that currently exist. The Active Together project looks to address many barriers to participation and utilizes Ambassadors as mentors to increase awareness and provide vital ‘first contact’ for persons who are wanting to gain access to new sporting opportunities; 2 important additional steps outlined in Canadian Sport for Life, Long Term Athlete Development (CS4L-LTAD) guidelines. Services and supports will be discussed such as a new community resource hub, outreach presentations and a special focus on AODA Customer Service Training with an emphasis on Sport and Recreation providers. The Active Together project is a cross disability project that draws strength from multiple community partners.

Laura identifies several occupations that are central to her occupational identity, including motorbike riding, farming, rugby, family/friend relationships, being a student, snow sports, her Christian faith, netball, camping, and working with people. Eo rise 2015 16 parents presentation
EO Rise is a youth basketball organization founded in 2015 with one 11U team. Their mission is to provide a positive learning environment where children can learn team fundamentals and become respectful, confident and responsible individuals. The organization has multiple coaches with college playing and coaching experience. Their 2015-16 season schedule includes skill development sessions from October to December, and tournament play starting in January for competitive teams. Parents are required to register their children with AAU and support the program in various ways. The overall goals are to teach fundamentals, create competitive teams, and mentor kids both on and off the court.

- 2. Personal I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but raised in Sioux Falls, SD. I am the second youngest of 6, with 2 sisters and 3 brothers. My passion for sports and my faith has shaped me into who I am today. Born into a family of golfers I had no choice but to pick up a club at an early age. Basketball was also a big passion of mine throughout my high school years. I recently went on a mission trip to Ethiopia where we spent time with many HIV/AIDS orphans in a very impoverished area, this trip changed everything about my personal and what I want to do in life. It opened a new world to me and altered my goals in the best way.
