Subject: Introducing Mr. Leo B. Giroux. CET
We wish to introduce Mr. Leo R Giroux as having been employed with Elsag Bailey
(Canada) Inc. from March 3rd, 1980 to July 28th, 1995 inclusive.
Mr. Giroux graduated from the Saskatchewan Institute of Technology in 1980just prior
to joining Bailey Canada in Pointe Claire, Quebec. At the outset of his employment he
attended the Bailey Canada Cadet Training Program in Pointe Claire and from there was
given his fist assignment as a Field Service Technologist in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,
immediately following the course closure.
As a Field Service Technologist, he was responsible for the installation, supervision of
installation, start-up and commissioning of new systems in process plant sites. His work
also included the maintenance and servicing of Bailey hardware and software for both the
domestic markets (Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia), as
well as, for International markets working in conjunction with Bailey Canada's Head
Office organization for Foreign/Overseas Service Group.
In the International Service support work, Mr. Giroux was responsible in the handling
of projects at Chittagong, Bangladesh (1987), PT Inca Cogen Plant, Indonesia (1989),
Guyana Electric Corp. (1992) and recently the Enelven C.A. Energia Electrica Power
Station, Maracaibo, Venezuela (1994-1995).
Having spent in excess of fifteen years engaged in product and process systems support
to Bailey customers near and far, Mr. Giroux has developed an indepth experience base
for both the technology of Process Control application and also for a wide range of the
Process Industry. His experience with the latest in Computer Hardware/Software
engenders in him a "State of the Art" capability.
Due to a narrowing of the marketplace and its effects on service support in the mid-
western region of Canada, Elsag Bailey has been engaged in an internal staff reduction
program affecting Mr. Giroux.
