Position Description
Title: Area Manager of Operations
Reports To: District Director of Operations
Primary Job Function: Responsible for achieving increased sales and maintaining proper controls within an
assigned area. This position will also be responsible for providing leadership and effective management of direct
reports.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overseeing the operations of an assigned number restaurant units within an area
• Will provide leadership and effective management of all direct reports
• As needed, will be responsible for operating a single unit with assigned area to ensure continuous leadership
• Manages sales goals as budgeted, including the monitoring/execution of marketing programs. Assists in the
development of local store marketing plans. Assesses assigned store requirements for new product roll-
outs/procedures and review discount reports
• Conducts quarterly promotional training for assigned units
• Create and maintain all Sales Forecast reports and team member schedules
• Will create action plans for food cost and ROJI/labor controls
• Plan and conduct working store visits with all levels of store management to ensure the execution of Quality,
Service and Cleanliness standards on all unit parts; including the monitoring of food product quality. Completing
all necessary unit reports
• Creates all sales forecasts and manages team member schedules
• Ensures all food safety procedures are executed according to Company policy health/sanitation regulations,
takes corrective actions as required. Ensures guest relation policies/procedures are being executed, implements
corrective actions as required
• Responsible for managing the company’s monthly safety program as well as conducting monthly safety meetings
in adherence with the Companies policies and procedures
• Reviews daily break violations and is charged with enforcing Company policy and State and Federal Law
• Ensures assigned stores’ compliance with Company operating policies and procedures. Evaluates store
performance at specified intervals using Company inspection forms; coaches and retrains managers, as
required, on the attainment of approved ratings and goal achievements
• Establishes and monitors procedures for the control of cash, property, product and equipment. Conducts audits
to ensure compliance with labor and safety regulations; takes corrective action as required. Monitors assigned
stores’ maintenance requirements to ensure Company procedures and standards are being followed. Reports
and follows up on preventive maintenance plans and activities
• Oversees Serv Safe certification for all management employees in assigned area
• Responsible for setting all pars for ordering, prep and bakery production and freezer pulls for assigned units.
Will also input invoices and purchase orders as necessary
• Completes all administrative requirements; i.e. daily/weekly/monthly reports to support the Executive Team
• Plans and maintains a system of regular communication of Company objectives, changes and area concerns to
all management levels
• Performs other job related duties as may be assigned or required
Performance Requirements:
• Full time; moderate travel required. Schedule may vary by departmental needs
• Adherence to all Company and safety policies and procedures
• Strength demands: Light to Moderate work. Includes exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and walking
or standing to a significant degree
• All other duties and responsibilities determined by individual department and/or reasonably assigned from time
to time.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• 3-5 years of Management experience in high-volume, fast-paced, results orientated Restaurant environments
• Multi-unit management experience desired
• Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge and understanding of restaurant operations (proven ability to perform all restaurant job
function), financial/accounting, budgeting, communication, cognitive and computer literacy
• Ability to train, develop and motivate a team to a common set of goals
• Adapt to change with the needs of the organization
• Assumes full responsibility for ensuring that multiple units operate in a manner that provides consistent day-to-
day operations and guest satisfaction
• Ability to recruit, interview and hire teams of employees and managers to achieve organizational goals
• Must have quality planning and project management skills and ability to work with other necessary
departments.
• Must have computer skills including Microsoft Office application
