The JNN Foundation constructed a fresh water well for St. Joseph's Academy in Keroka village, Kenya which serves over 600 students, most of whom are orphans. This has improved the quality of life for students and the surrounding community. The foundation seeks funding to continue similar projects to help areas affected by poverty and disease. It thanks two families that donated to drill the well, allowing students to focus on their studies instead of walking long distances to fetch water. The foundation's vision is to provide clean water, sanitation and reduce disease in impoverished Kenyan communities by drilling wells village by village.

This case report describes a rare case of snakebite in a 30-week pregnant woman in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The woman presented with symptoms resembling myasthenia, including drooping eyelids and difficulty breathing and standing. Upon further examination, fang marks were discovered on her thigh. Based on her symptoms and the geographical distribution of snakes in the area, she was diagnosed with envenomation by a common krait snake. She received antivenom treatment along with other supportive care, but unfortunately went into premature labor and her baby died from sepsis shortly after birth. Responsive hackfest: Code4Lib2014 Pre-conference
Pre-conference delivered at Code4Lib 2014. This structured hackfest will give attendees an opportunity to explore methods to create responsive mobile apps using the Bootstrap framework and a set of APIs for accessing library data. We will start with an API template for creating space-based mobile tools that draw from work coming out of the IMLS funded Student/Library Collaborative grant. Available APIs will include a room reservation template and codebase for implementing at any campus and the set of Minrva catalog APIs generating JSON.
Hosts will give a brief report of a study on student hacking projects and interests in mobile library apps that are the basis for the templates utilized in this Hackfest. By the end of the pre-conference attendees will have a sample responsive mobile web app in Bootstrap 3 to bring back to their campus which can plug into their site-based content.

BOV, sponsors salvation, education and health initiatives: medical and dental triage field teams, distribution of medicines and treated mosquito nets, seminars and training. Building schools, churches, KVIP toilet facilities and boring clean water wells. BOV sends a container to Ghana annually. The container (love container) includes teaching materials, teaching aids, library books, clothes, Bibles and blankets to prisoners and other items to help improve the lives of those in need.
In additional to being of service to people in need, BOV is also a vehicle for donors and volunteers to personally participate in outreach programs, engage with cultures different from their own and experience the joy of giving and receiving as they learn and build new relationships. LWSC 2015 Annual Report

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune Disease
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

Jnn water project
- 1. Providing Drinking Water and Sanitation
- 2. • The JNN Foundation successfully coordinated the construction of a fresh water well for St. Joseph’s Academy, a school in Keroka village in Kenya that enrolls over 600 children, most of whom are orphans. • This effort has literally changed the quality of life for the students as well as of the lives of the surrounding community. • JNN’s mission is to seek funding to help continue with such progressive efforts, and attempt to restore hope for areas devastated by poverty and AIDS. • “Around 700,000 children die every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation – that's almost 2,000 children a day”. (Water Aid; 2012)
- 3. • The JNN Foundation appreciates the sincere support and generosity of two families that made it possible to drill the well for St. Joseph’s Academy in Keroka, Kenya. • Mr. & Mrs. Klahn and Mr. & Mrs. Oakley visited Kenya in 2011 and they were moved with compassion at the distance the students walked to fetch water for daily use. • Upon their return to the US, the Klahns and Oakleys committed donations to ensure construction of the well, so that students focus on their studies and avoid damaging their backs from heavy lifting. • We are grateful for the support the Klahns and Oakleys continue to provide for the Motherly Care Children's Home with roof renovations. The Klahn’s together with other donors are supporting the education of David, a full time medical student in Kenya who had financial difficulties that prevented him from attending college.

Our commitment to sink a water well one village at a time will help improve water sanitation and hygiene, and reduce the daily long distance coverage taken by women and kids to fetch water. With your help, we can again duplicate the success of the 2013 water project. This compassionate effort has enhanced the quality of life for 2,000 community members in the Nyasore Academy Community in Kenya. The economic and financial analyses has shown that development and poverty reduction involves reliable water sources and water supply systems. The benefits include improved health and quality of life, reduction of mortality rates and incidences of waterborne diseases, and empowerment of vulnerable and disenfranchised communities.
