1. WHAT’S YOUR LEVEL OF INFLUENCE?

2. What makes working with one
person a very successful event?
AND
Working with another
person a very
unsuccessful event?
4. Although a leader may be in a high-ranking position and
have abundant knowledge and success, what make someone a
leader is his or her
ability to influence others.
5. THE FIVE LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP:
Is a Process, not a Position.
 Provides a Clear Picture of Leadership.
 Defines Leading as a Verb, not a Noun.
 Breaks Leadership Down into Understandable
Steps.
 Provides a Clear Game Plan for Leadership
Development.
 Aligns Leadership Practices, Principles & Values.

6. AS YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
CLIMB TO HIGHER
LEVELS, YOUR MEASURE
OF INFLUENCE
INCREASES AND YOU ARE
ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH
MORE TOGETHER.
YOU CAN MOVE UP A
LEVEL BUT YOU CAN
NEVER LEAVE THE
PREVIOUS ONE BEHIND!
7. Level of Influence:
1. POSITION - RIGHTS
- The lowest level for any leader because it
is based ONLY on a title or job description.
-People
follow you only because they have to.
You have little influence in their lives.
-Only
level that does not require ability and
effort to achieve. Anyone can be appointed
to a position.
8. Level of Influence:
2. PERMISSION - RELATIONSHIPS
- This level is entirely based on the relationships you
have with others.
-People
follow you because they want to - they give
you permission to lead.
-You
can like people without leading them, but you
cannot lead people well without liking them.
- But… you must climb to the next level to reap the
true rewards of influence.
9. Level of Influence:
3. PRODUCTION - RESULTS
- Your influence is strengthened as a result of what
you and your people accomplish together.
-People
follow you because they have heard what you
have done for your group or the organization.
-From
this level one can become a change agent, tackle
the difficult problems & face thorny issues.
- Although very rewarding, this level does not bring
lasting success.
10. Level of Influence:
4. PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT REPRODUCTION
- You develop and inspire other leaders, not just
inspire followers.
- People follow you because of what you’ve done for
them personally.
-There’s
almost nothing you can’t accomplish at this
level.
-You
change the lives of people you lead. Their
relationships are often lifelong.
11. Level of Influence:
5. PINNACLE - RESPECT
-
Leaders who have spent a lifetime pouring their
lives into others sometimes find themselves on this
level.
-
While the first 4 levels can be climbed, level 5 also
requires a high level 0f TALENT.
- People follow them because of who they are and
what they represent.
- Examples: Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr.,
Mother Theresa, Billy Graham
